I can’t believe that my trip to Disneyland is now in the past. It was actually fun waiting for the day to come to pack our bags and leave. So now I am actually planning another trip to Southern California, but not to Disneyland.
So last Tuesday was my daughter Hannah’s 6th birthday. I had wanted to go to Disneyland on her actual birthday, but that didn’t happen so we went to the California State Fair instead. Then, the next day me and my daughters set off in our rental car to Southern California. We originally had planned on the entire family going, but I knew with the long lines that Disneyland can be famous for would not be something that would mix well with my active 2 year old. My husband does not have all the patience in the world (nor I), so we thought it would be best for an all girls trip.
We arrived in Anaheim at around 8pm and I was in search for a hotel on the main strip. We found one at a great price and got settled in. We were hungry so we walked down to the Captain Kids Buffet. What was cool was eating outside and watching the Disneyland fireworks display. The heart shape Micky Mouse firework is my FAVORITE.
On Thursday morning we woke up late ended up at Disneyland at 9am. I had wanted to get there at 8am when it opened, but my body needed an extra hour of rest. As soon as we got inside the gate, my kids started pleading for an autograph book. Now how can SuperMom resist buying them what they wanted. From the start of our day to the end of our day, my daughters were busy chasing Disney characters around for autographs and I got it all on film.
We got to go on quite a few rides, but not all of them. With it being summer, there were long lines for most of the rides. We stayed at Disneyland from 9am to 12am with an hour break which we rode the bus to Denny’s for dinner.
On Friday we woke up and went shopping at some outlets on the way home. My luck there was an accident on the freeway and it took me an extra 4 hours to get home. I was not happy going only 30 miles in 4 hours. We got off on the first exit in Santa Clarita during the traffic and the town was PACKED. I don’t think I have ever seen so many people inside Burger King at one time. My trip from Anaheim to Sacramento took over 11 hours.
Now that Disneyland is gone and done, I am thinking of my next vacation destination!

Love your pics! We took our girls once, about six years ago. I would love to plan a trip back. Such a great family time.

I want to plan a trip back next year. Right now is a busy time so we didn’t get to do everything. There is also California Adventure next door that I didn’t get to see either. Next time I am definitely getting a 3-5 day hopper ticket.

Jenn,
I already want to plan a trip back “but longer”. I didn’t take my son because he is too young right now to really appreciate Disneyland. I am thinking when he is 4 might be perfect.

I live right outside of Disney World (in Windermere) and I have to tell you that this place just never gets old to me. I see the Disney fireworks outside my house every night at 10:00. Thanks for sharing!
