If you have been following me for a while, you might know that I love “stationary stuff”. This would include pens, pencils, markers, paper, etc. I also like to try to recycle and live just a little more “greener”. It is said that small changes can make big changes so the little things that I do now to help the environment makes me feel happy that I am doing something for the future of my children. I was contacted recently by Mom Central with the opportunity to review the NEW biodegradable pens and pencils from Papermate. Since I consider myself a little eco-friendlyside and LOVE pens and pencils, I knew I had to jump on this one.
When I received the pens and mechanical pencils, I immediately opened the pack of pens and had to use it. In addition to the pens being “earth friendly”, they are also very lightweight and write very smoothly. The mechanical pencils are also lightweight and easy to load. I am going to be buying these for myself and my kids when I see them the next time I am shopping for school supplies.
I plan on planting these in the ground when the ink is gone. Do you want to take the Plant-A-Pen Challenge? You can do something fun with your kids by planting some of these in the ground once the ink is gone too! You can plant these with your kids and feel good about using pens and pencils that don’t harm the earth. Be sure to use a placement marker of some sort where you bury the pen(s). You can either watch it throughout the year or try digging it up in one year. This should be a neat experience!
The Papermate Recycled products include these pens and mechanical pencils I have been bragging about along with the Earth Write Pencils, Write Bros pens, FlexGrip pens and Dryline correction tape. Be sure to look for these products when you are shopping for your kid’s school supplies (or yours).
“I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Paper Mate and received the products necessary to facilitate my review. In addition, I received a gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate.”
