So I thought it would be fun to give my son Sea Monkeys.
We followed the instructions and waited a couple weeks for these Sea Monkeys to hatch. We then gave up after not seeing anything, but I didn’t throw it away. I left it sitting in the window in the kitchen and one day I seen something moving. I was like no way and looked closer. To my surprise there were little things moving around, the Sea Monkeys had hatched. It has been a few weeks and we have fed them once and they are BREEDING.
At first I thought they were cute, but now I think they are starting to creep me out. They look like they are growing more and more body parts, like EYES.
To think these came out of a package!
So now what do I do with them?

LOL I remember these from when I was younger, but I never had anything grow. I watched the video, they are creepy!

I would be curious to see them in person, since I haven’t seen them before. However, they sound really creepy, lol!

Andrew and I have attempted the Sea Monkey fun a couple of times. My sister actually sent me a kit for my birthday a few years ago because when we were little I had bought one with my own money, and she killed them while I was at school by giving them the whole package of food at once. Anyway, so the first time we tried them was when my Grandma died. We forgot to tell the person taking care of the cat about them. We were gone about 5 weeks and when we got home, the whole thing had dried up. Oops! So I bought another kit a couple of months later and we tried again. I don’t remember what happened then, but we messed that one up too. The third one we did after we moved to Georgia. Finally we succeeded in hatching them! Andrew and the cousins enjoyed watching them for a few weeks, but eventually they died too. I don’t think we are going to try them again. LOL

It’s true, the bigger they get, the more you realize that they aren’t quite as cute as the package shows. I used to have a salt-water aquarium with seahorses. Seahorses are picky eaters but they love to eat seamonkeys (brine shrimp) so I had a second tank just for breeding seamonkeys as food for them. I guess that’s my only (very imrpractical) suggestion. π

I got these for the kids a long while ago and they were fun while they lasted. They strike me as just one of those things that are both creepy, yet cool. Thanks for sharing the video.

I think they’re cool! We’ve grown them twice, once years ago when my son was little and they didn’t really get big enough for us to see. the second time, a few years ago, they did better and we really enjoyed watching them. Yours are HUGE!

I’m going to go with cool. Then again, I’m a huge animal lover (are they really animals though) so I love anything. π
