I have been thinking of the future a lot lately. I love to write, but am I going to be blogging 20+ years from now. I am definitely not getting any younger, so as the days go by quickly, I am thinking of what steps I need to do today to help me later down the road.
I have my own “online business“, but owning a brick and mortar type of business has also been something I have always wanted since I was a child. With having a family of 6, starting some sort of family business sounds like something I really would like to do. I would love to be able to own a business that everyone in my family can be involved with.
Since exercise is a way to my body in shape. I re-joined my gym last month and have been trying to go at least an hour each day. Each time I leave that gym after getting some sort of workout, I feel good about myself which gives me motivation to keep coming back.
So then it comes down to the financial part of life. While I think I am living somewhat the dream being a work at home mom, there is always the need to be financially secure. While my “online business” pays the bills, I haven’t been so successful with building that big savings account I want to have just yet. When I get to the age where I cannot take care of myself and need home health care, I don’t want to have to rely on my children or other family to help pay the cost. Being able to support myself and my family is very important to me. I don’t have experience of my own, but have family members who have used home care agencies and they can sometimes be expensive. I don’t want to leave that expense to anyone but me!
So I think I want to come up with some sort of real plan for the future. That plan just might include a family operated business since my daughters are getting almost to age where they are old enough to get a job to make some money. I haven’t decided if I would like something food related, retail or maybe offering some sort of service.
Have you set any goals for your future?

Luckily, my husband has an awesome job that allows me to be able to have my part-time, work from home job! Right now, I’m focusing on blogging and taking care of my girls.

I’d love to be able to work from home! That’s always been a goal of mine and I just started working on making it happen this year.

Owning your own business seems to be the only way to have any financial freedom anymore. Both Mike and I have owned our own businesses for years, and have no intention of that EVER changing.
