I mentioned earlier this month that I will be attending the Red Carpet Premiere for Disneynature’s new film Chimpanzee. Since I got the invitation, I haven’t stopped thinking about my upcoming trip to Florida and being able to see this film. Chimpanzee is a documentary, but one that was filmed over a time period of 3+ years. From watching the movie trailer, it looks like some great footage was captured and I can’t wait to see it. I love nature and have always enjoyed watching different documentaries involving animals.
What makes this trip even more special is we have the opportunity to interview Jane Goodall. If you are unfamiliar with Jane Goodall, she is known for being an expert on chimpanzees and her 45-year study of the social and family interactions of wild chimpanzees. Jane is also the founder of The Jane Goodall Institute, an international wildlife and environment conservation organization that helps advance the power of individuals to improve our environment and living things.
Take a peek at the trailer below:
What I like most about this film is that the story is featured around a chimp named Oscar and his adventures in the African forest. Oscar starts his journey with having a family to being an orphan out in the world alone to defend himself and find new friendships. I think I will make sure that I have some tissue in my purse because I know I am going to shed a tear or two or more. 🙂
Chimpanzee will be in theaters on Earth Day, April 20th. Be sure watch this film the opening week as Disneynature is going to make a donation for every ticket that is purchased that week to the Jane Goodall Institute!

This is the first time I’ve been excited about a new movie in quite a while now. I like documentaries so this is just my sort of thing.
