Since I am one of those moms that tries to be crafty, I have always wanted a laminator. Up until this month, I had never owned a laminator nor had I ever used one. When I received the Fellowes Saturn2 95 Laminator I was EXCITED.
Once I took my laminator out of the box, it was easy to setup. I just plugged it in and selected the 3mil option and waited a few minutes for it to reach the proper temperature. Once the machine has warmed up, it gives a beeping sound to alert you that it is ready for use.
To laminate a document, you slide the paper into special laminating pouches you can purchase for this machine and then gently push the pouch into the laminator and help guide it while it goes through.
One thing I have been wanting to laminate is some my children’s awards they have received throughout the last few years. I have three daughters in school and a collection of awards that I want to preserve that keeps on growing. I have other ideas that I have been wanting to try, but the awards have been the first on my list.
So the first thing I scanned was one of my daughters awards that she received last year in her math class.
This process is easy and it laminates the document in just about a minute or so. The Fellowes Saturn2 95 Laminator uses the HeatGuard Technology that consists of a double-walled insulation that helps to keep the heat inside. This also ensures that the laminator is comfortable to touch which makes it safe for homes with children.
After I laminated the first award I really wanted to laminate this weekly calendar I had had printed. I put the calendar in a pouch and put it in the laminator and started to get happy. Since I have so many different things I do with all my websites, I LOVE using calendars and being able to make my wipe-off calendars has me excited.
After my calendar was laminated and ready to use, I got out one of my dry erase pens to show you how easy it is to create a calendar that you easily re-use. Here is an example weekly calendar of a mom blogger. π
With a napkin, the ink is erased and I can re-use the calender. I think I might use this calendar just to schedule all the different Twitter parties that are going on although this will come in handy for many things that I need to schedule.
Now that I own a Fellowes Laminator, I want to try some of the other ideas I have like making some flash cards to start teaching my son some of the basics before he starts preschool this year. Just think of all the printables you have seen online that would be handy laminated. π
You can purchase different size laminating pouches to suite your needs such as letter size, business card size, photo pouches, luggage tags and more.
Now through August 25th you can use the exclusive coupon code 87298 to receive $30 off the regular price ($159.99) of a Fellowes Saturn2 95 at Staples.com!Β This offer is valid while supplies last and there is a maximum two machines per person.
βI wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Fellowes and received a product sample to facilitate my review.β
Great review. I love my laminator!
I could so use a laminator! Guess I need to make a trip to Staples! π
I would love one of those for my classroom!
How funny. I was just looking at laminators the other day. I used to work at a school and used one all the time. Now I want one for home so I can laminate all my kids’ artwork and then bind them into books.
That’s a great idea!!!
Heat-laminators are awesome! Just be careful not to laminate concert tickets! They’ll turn black because they’re thermally printed!
Looks like a great laminator. The one I have has a hand crank you have to use.
I LOVE my laminator! I did the same thing- with a laminated calendar. Makes mommy life a little more organized!
The calendar idea is my favorite. Love that!
