When it comes to my kids and brushing their teeth, sometimes getting them to brush can be a challenge. It seems like they go through lazy spurts where I am constantly having to remind them to get in the bathroom and get to brushing. I then have my 2 year old that likes to sneak out his toothbrush and toothpaste out of the bathroom and bring it to me, reminding me that he needs to brush his teeth. Now how can you get mad at that?
Luckily, there are companies like Listerine and Reach that are coming out with oral care products that will get kids interest. If you hand your child a boring white toothbrush, they are probably going to turn their nose up. But if you gave them some colorful toothbrush that has their favorite cartoon character on it, they might run to the bathroom to give it a try. I don’t know about you, but I have been worrying about the cavities with Halloween just passing and my kids consuming more candy (sugar) than they needed.
I am so glad that I was invited to participate in the Listerine Oral Care Challenge Blog Tour through Mom Central. My kids were prepared for the sugar that is involved with Trick-Or-Treating before Halloween even came around. We have been brushing, flossing and using some of the Listerine and Reach Oral Care products since last month. We were not the only ones prepared. The makers of Listerine and Reach teamed up this year with America’s Toothfairy to launch the “Trick or Treat for America’s Toothfairy” campaign that helps raise awareness of pediatric dental disease and help provide life changing care to children who really need it!
If your child does not like mouthwash, check out all the mouthwash from Listerine. They come in a variety of colors and flavors that have my kids using mouthwash more than I ever have. I find that switching flavors and products can sometimes help get your child’s interest in brushing or rinsing their mouth. Whatever helps in my opinion is a blessing. As an adult, I know how important it is to take care of your teeth as early as possible.

We use the smart rinse and it’s actually pretty cool because the girls get to see the germs come out of their mouth..LOL!

Aww, how cute that your 2 year old tells you he needs to brush his teeth! Great to learn good habits so young – you’re right, it’s important to take care of your teeth.

My kids aren’t to bad with brushing but they could use a little more incentive and I am sure different flavored mouthwash would help. At least with my son it would. Thanks for sharing.
