Small Business Saturday Is Tomorrow – #SmallBizSat

Tomorrow is a day that I am looking forward to! November 24, 2012 is Small Business Saturday and I am going to enjoy shopping small. Last year I participated in the Small Business Saturday event and I will doing it again this year. For the smaller communities out there, it is important for us consumers to help support the local businesses in your area by shopping at their stores, even if your purchase is small. For those of you that have an American Express card, be sure to check out the  $25 Statement Credit for shopping small tomorrow that is available as an extra bonus for shipping on this special day!

Each Saturday for the last few months,  I have been spoiling the kids with donuts for breakfast. Tomorrow I will be taking my 4 kids to Golden Donuts by my house for our Saturday morning donuts. I normally buy a dozen donuts at the grocery store early in the morning and bring them home. This Saturday I am packing up the kids and we are going to Golden Donuts and eating the donuts there. This little donut shop offers some other breakfast items too that I might just have to try. For lunch, I might just take the kids to one of our favorite little restaurants right down the street.

This is such a great way to support your community by just making your normal purchases at a small local business instead of a big franchise. I will be letting each of the merchants that I visit know why I am visiting them too!
