One thing that I always thought was a great tool to have in my math courses was a calculator. Sure you are supposed to be able to figure out how to do the calculations yourself, but it sure can be handy to have a calculator that you can check you work with. One of my teens happens to like math and whizzed right past Algebra, I wish I could have. What she happens to need this year is a calculator that does more than just your basic addition/subtraction and multiplication.
We received one of the Casio FX-9860GII Calculators to review. After taking a peek at the calculator, my first impression was that calculators sure have came a long way. I remember the ones that I used when I was in high school and they were no where near as smart. We received the GRAY version of this calculator but I want to mention that they come in HOT PINK too! The pink gives a cute splash of color to your child’s school supplies and if you have a child that loves math and loves pink, I bet they will LOVE the Casio FX-9860GII.
Here are just SOME of the features I want to share:
- Large high-resolution screen with icon-based menus
- Natural Display shows expressions and results exactly as they appear in the textbook
- Direct connection to CASIO projectors via USB
- Data transfer from unit-to-unit and from unit-to-computer
- Built-in eActivity & Spreadsheet Applications
- Pre-loaded Geometry Application
- 1500 KB Flash ROM
What is great is this calculator is teacher-approved and designed for students in grades six through twelve.Β The suggested courses to use this calculator with are: Pre-Algebra, Algrebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, AP Calculus, AP Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Finance & Business. That is a variety of classes which proves this calculator can be used for many years while your child is in school or maybe even for you!
The FX-9860GII is currently available at Target, Staples and other major retailers.Β You can also find this PINK Casio calculator on the Amazon website too!
