Last week I finally mastered how to take a picture with light trails! Now I am really excited for the state fair to come so I can get some cool shots of the big ferris wheel!

If you can change the shutter speed, I am pretty sure you can. These types of photos use extended exposure. I set mine to 10 seconds. You have to make sure you are still too, so put the camera on a flat surface or use a tripod. I bought one of those shutter release cables and used it to take the picture just to ensure there was no movement of the camera.

Hey that is so cool I have a 5100 how do you extend the shutter speed. I have never been able to figure that out? Thanks
Mike
Stefani Tolson says
Hi Mike, you have to use the Command Dial to change the shutter speed. This is the main control that allows you to set and adjust the shutter speed, white balance, ISO, etc.
