Interview With Scarlett Johansson, Marvel’s BLACK WIDOW – #CaptainAmericaEvent

I was invited to the #CaptainAmericaEvent. Costs and expenses for my trip were covered by Disney but all opinions expressed are my own.

For those that love the superheros films and comics, it is really exciting when there is a female superhero that is brought into the mix. When I was young it was Wonder Woman who was popular. Black Widow existed but was a villian type character from Mystic Comics, Marvel’s 1930-1940s predecessor that I was unfamiliar with. I think what made Wonder Woman so popular was all her pretty costumes.

Move over Wonder Woman! Now we have Scarlett Johnansson who plays Natalia “Natasha” Alianovna Romanova, the first character to take on the Black Widow codename in the modern mainstream Marvel Comics today. Scarlett Johansson is not only amazing in the movies, she is also just as amazing in person.

Last month when I attended the Captain America Press Junket, we had the opportunity to interview Scarlett Johansson. We asked her questions about her character in Captain America, the stunts she had to perform and even about the costume she had to wear.

About the Black Widow character:

Natasha Romanoff, code name Black Widow, is an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Introduced in Iron Man 2, she assessed the suitability of Tony Stark for the Avenger Initiative. The report she filed with S.H.I.E.L.D. found that Stark was unsuitable for it but the Iron Man armor would be beneficial to the Initiative. She is a founding member of the Avengers and the only female founder of the group.

Though she has no superhuman powers, the Black Widow is an expert martial artist with a competent scientific mind and interrogational skills. (Source: Wikia)

From the moment that Scarlett walked into the room, she was energetic and so eager to answer our questions. It was a really neat experience being able to interview and take a picture of one of the popular female superheros, especially Black Widow that will be starring in Captain America: The Winter Soldier in theaters TOMORROW!
