One of my hobbies includes crafts with my kids. Last week I wanted to go shopping at Michaels to grab some items for a few different crafts I want to do with the kids this month. Since I knew I was going to be a while I signed them up online for one of the Passport to Imagination craft classes at Michaels.
The Passport To Imagination are classes at Michaels that are themed around some of North America’s most fascinating museums as a way to create an imaginary road trip for the kids. Each week during through August 1, 2014 Michaels will have 3 different classes for 2 hours that children can take where they make some cool crafts related to the museum of the week.
During the 2 hour class the kids make two different crafts then allowed some free draw time until parent pickup. I honestly enjoyed being able look at all the fun stuff at Michaels while my children were having fun making crafts. My daughter and son participated on Day #1 of the Pima Air & Space Museum class during week #3. In this class they actually made three things. They made a Biplane out out of craft/popsicle sticks, a glider and another craft stick Biplane that they could put in their Passport to Imagination albums.
When you sign in your kids, you have to stay in the store. Even though 2 hours sounds like a LONG time to shop it is not. The time actually went by really fast. My kids didn’t need me to check on them, but I did a couple times so I could get some pictures of the fun.
If you have a child that likes crafts there is still time left to participate. There is actually 11 of these FUN craft classes left until the program ends. Michaels is currently on Week #4 which is the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. Tomorrow children all over will be making a cool Zoetrope and Optical Illusion Art. These classes are only $2 per child for 2 hours of FUN!
For those looking for an inexpensive craft idea for the kids, these Biplanes are fun and easy to make! You just need some closepins, craft sticks, glue and some markers or paint to give your planes some color.
To signup for a craft class at Michaels visit your local store or signup online at: https://classes.michaels.com/OnlineClasses.

What a fun way to make crafts that do not cost a lot of money. I did not know that Michaels was having this promotion. I will have to tell my sister about it and have her take my nephew. He loves making things.
