Disclosure – I received an invite to the #StrangeMagicEvent. All expenses were paid for and covered by Disney. The opinions stated herein are 100% my own.
Back in January when I took a trip to San Francisco to visit Skywalker Ranch, our group also took a trip to Pixar Studios to learn more about the new Pixar film Inside Out that will be in theaters on June 19.
I enjoy pulling up to those gates at Pixar Animation Studios…
Not just anyone can visit Pixar. You have to be special and have a badge or the Pixar Patrol will get you.
Now this wasn’t my first time to Pixar Studios so I was curious to see how different it was going to look my second time there. It was missing all the Monster University decorations but I seen a few Pixar icons still in place which made me smile.
Like the famous Pixar Lamp!
At night the lamp turns on and looks pretty cool.
Here are two of my FAVORITE Pixar characters. Got to LOVE Mike and Sulley from Monsters University.
I am a fan of Toy Story so I had to take a picture with the Woody made out of Legos. There is also a Buzz Lightyear made out of Legos too!
During our time at Pixar we were able to watch a 20 minute preview of the upcoming film Inside Out. Even though we only got to see just a small bit of the film, it looks like it is going to be really good. After watching the preview we were able to sit down with the producers Pete Docter and Jonas Rivera and ask them some questions about the film.
In this new film you will go inside the mind of a 11 year old girl named Riley where five emotions Joy, Anger, Disgust, Fear and Sadness try to lead the girl through her life. Watch the new trailer for Inside Out below.
Not only did we get to get to see a preview of Pixar’s Inside Out, we got to watch the new film short LAVA that will be playing right before Inside Out. I think that LAVA has a cute story, great music and I must say I really LOVED it and can’t wait to see it again with my kids once it comes out in theaters in June.
Take a sneak peek at the LAVA short below:
Being inside Pixar Studios feels magical. Both times that I have been there I have thought to myself that I wished I worked there. Maybe that is just the Disney fan inside me but I do hope that one of my children (that love to draw) work at Pixar so that maybe I could come there often and bring them lunch!
We learned some great information during our time at Pixar Studios. Stay tuned for my upcoming posts with interviews with Director James Ford Murphy and Producer Andrea Warren as well as Director Pete Docter and Producer Jonas Rivera.
LAVA plays before Inside Out and opens in theaters everywhere on June 19th!
