“I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Influence Central for SoCozy. I received Target gift cards to facilitate my review and thank me for my participation.”
Ever since I was a child I have had long hair. I only cut my hair once when I was in the 5th grade because my cousins had cut their hair and regretted it once I seen myself in the mirror. Now that I have daughters myself, I have always loved them with long hair and with having long hair comes maintenance….
I was excited to find out that Target now carries the SoCozy line of products. For those who haven’t heard of SoCozy, it is a brand that was started Cozy Friedman who is an entrepreneur and and mom of two teenage sons. Cozy’s dream actually started with her popular Cozy Cuts salon for kids in New York over 20 years ago. She wanted to make a salon that catered to the kids, a place for them to get their hair done in a relaxed environment. That salon was such a success that lead to more salons and for Cozy to create the SoCozy Professional Hair Care for Children.
When it comes to your hair, everything from rubbing your shampoo in your hair and brushing it can cause damage. Unfortunately damaged hair usually LOOKS and feels unhealthy. The products that you put in your hair can also cause damage so I have learned that buying the “cheapest” brand of hair products is not always the best way to go. What I like about the SoCozy products is that they are salon quality and FREE of parabens, sulphates, propylene glycol, wheat, gluten, nuts and FREE of artificial colorants.
Before the SoCozy products were not so easy to find. I actually tried these products a few years ago when you could just order them online but now you can find these products at Target! Here is the products I found at my Target:
- 2 in 1 Shampoo + Body Wash
- Conditioner
- Detangler
- Styling Gel
- Styling Cream
- Boo Lice Prevention Shampoo
- Boo Lice Prevention Spray
One thing that can also damage your hair is the water you use to wash it with. Even though I have one of those fancy shower heads with a water filter, that hard water still does a number to our hair. My 10 year old has long hair like me and it always seems to look dry and frizzy once her hair has been shampoo’d and conditioned. Right now we are using the SoCozy Detangler and the Styling Cream which is working wonders for her hair. These products also have fruity scents that she likes too!
For those of you that deal with kids + crazy hair days, here are some helpful tips for keeping your kid’s hair healthy:
- When styling their hair, try to use styling methods that don’t require heat or chemicals. Use products like the SoCozy Styling Cream and the SoCozy Styling Gel to get that perfect look. If you do choose to go with heat like with a flat iron be sure to lower the heat.
- When putting in a ponytail or brad, make sure that they are loose. Also use the covered rubber bands that you can buy and not regular rubber bands that can break and damage the hair.
- Use a wide-tooth comb rather a brush if possible, especially with curly hair. Use the SoCozy Detangler to help with those unwanted tangles.
- After your child swims in any pool that has been treated with chemicals, be sure to have your child wash those chemicals out of hair and use a conditioner. The chemicals used in pools can dry out hair and leave it damaged.
- When washing the hair it is important to wash the scalp, not just the entire length of the hair. Washing just the hair can lead to flyaway hair that can be dull and coarse and rubbing the shampoo into the hair can break hairs making it look unhealthy. When washing use non-toxic products like the SoCozy 2 in 1 Shampoo and the SoCozy Conditioner.

Awesome to see hair products without all the junk and bad stuff in it, I am very picky about what I put on my skin and my kids too, never heard of this brand before but I will be looking for it next time I shop here.

I have never heard of this brand, but good to see that the founder was able to live out her dreams and develop this line! Children’s detanglers and gels are also fantastic for those of us with very fine/thin hair! 🙂

I made the mistake of buying my kids the cheap shampoos and conditioners and it really showed in their hair when they were younger. We now buy them better quality products and I absolutely love that these don’t have all the added junk in them. I will definitely be on the lookout for these at Target. I know my girls would love them!

Kiddo has super thick and curly hair. We have tried many products over the years. I have long and naturally curly hair and have been using the same products for years. BioSilk really helps me, but with both of us using it, not so budget friendly. I might have to try these for her. She would like the fruit smells and cute packaging.
