This is a sponsored post with Mums the Word Network & IGottaDrive.
One thing that scares me is the fact that I have two daughters that are old enough to drive. Although my oldest is graduating high school, she still only has her permit because I want her to practice and have all the laws of driving embedded in her head before she is legal to drive without a licensed driver. I will admit that when I got my license ad my first car I was so nervous because I really didn’t have too much practice behind the wheel before I was in charge of my own vehicle.
What makes things a little different now when it comes to driving now than back when I was 16 is that you can learn the laws of driving and take practice tests ONLINE. When I was 16 the internet was slow, on dial-up and there wasn’t no drivers courses available that I can remember. There is now courses like the “Hit The Road” course from IGottaDrive.com that allows students to learn everything from the basic seat adjustments to more complex maneuvers like parallel parking.
I think that the drivers ed program is on IGottaDrive.com is really neat. The course is setup where the students take a virtual trip across the United States, learning different things about driving along the way. The course allows you to start and stop at anytime with the option to go back and review any completed section. As you learn you also take quizzes to test your knowledge.
In addition to the drivers ed course and teaching students how to drive online, there is also a ton of resources for both students and parents such as driving videos, tips, practice tests and more. For example they have a great video that helps students learn how to parallel park properly which is something I am glad wasn’t park of my driving test when I was 16.
For those students that live in CA, when you complete the online course you will receive a California Certificate Of Completion that can be used to obtain your driver’s permit at the DMV. Right now you can purchase this course on Amazon Local CA and pay only $15!
My teens think that this is a great way to take the course instead of taking it at school. All students who pass the “Hit The Road” course will also receive a virtual postcard too for those that want to share on their social media sites.
