One thing that I really have a passion for is preparing food. I enjoy cooking on the stove, baking in the oven and even BBQ’ing on the grill in the summer. When I bought my house in 2006 we bought a new oven and I will admit that I have never liked it. Last year at Blogher I learned about the Samsung Chef Collection and about this oven that had the ability to bake 2 different things at 2 different temperatures. This was my dream oven. I immediately imagined baking my turkey on Thanksgiving but also being able to cook my other dishes and rolls at the same time. That oven last year had one door.
I now have my hands on one even better…
I received the Samsung Dual Door Electric Range to review and I am in LOVE. For those that know me, you know that I really have been wanting a new oven but never had been able to convince my husband that a new oven would make the wife happier. I even tried to enter a kitchen makeover contest online a few years ago in hopes of winning a new one with no luck.
Think of how happy I was once my new dream oven arrived, was installed and ready for me to use. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to cook something on the stove or maybe two different things in the oven.
My new Samsung Dual Door Electric Range has has a ceramic cooktop surface with 5 different cooking elements. On the surface you will also find a warming center burner that is used to keep side dishes, gravy sauces hot until they are ready to be served. This is my first time using a ceramic cooktop surface and I have to say I really prefer it over my old fashioned burners I have been using for years. They cook evenly and are so much easier to clean.
What makes this cooktop surface even more awesome is that the two medium burners on the left side of the range can be combined in a bridge mode that gives you a long oblong burner. The large burner also has the ability to cook as a small burner and medium burner depending on what setting you place the knob on.
I love the modern look look to the stove with the stainless steel knobs. It takes a little more work when cleaning but I like the look that the this oven gives my kitchen. I am now thinking a new stainless steel fridge would also look great in the kitchen to match.
Yes, I love that this Samsung electric range has the 5 different cooking elements but my FAVORITE thing that I like about the oven is the fact that you cook two different things at two different temperatures. This range is designed with the FlexDuo technology with the Smart Divider and Dual Door technology. Depending on what you are baking, you also have the option to remove the divider to make one large single oven too!
When you think it doesn’t get better it does. Another one of my FAVORITE features is that this oven isn’t just a regular oven, it is a convection oven as well. For those that want to be a chef, or even make fancy pastries, you WANT an oven that offers convection baking.
So now on the holidays when I am baking a pie for an hour, I can also make some of the things I learned in baking class like cream puffs and eclairs, pastries that won’t bake correctly when using just a standard oven.
For those unfamiliar convection ovens, they are ovens that have a fan with a heating element that provides the heat in the oven cavity opposed to the radiant/thermal that a conventional oven uses for heat. The fan in the convection oven circulates blows the hot air on the food which results in a reduction of cooking time compared to a standard conventional oven that bakes the food by the heat just surrounding it.
My new Samsung Freestanding Dual Door Electric Range bakes my mini cream puffs perfectly! For me, this oven opened a whole new world to creating recipes to share.
I think my family is loving the new oven too. While I haven’t allowed nobody to use it just yet, they are sure getting to enjoy some of the pastries that I have been making!
Can’t wait to put this oven to use during the holidays and really put it to the test. Just think of how many different things I can cook at one time!
