Disclosure – I was invited to the #InsideOutEvent. Costs and expenses for my trip were covered by Disney but all opinions expressed are my own.
Last week was a special week for me. I was invited to attend the premiere for Disney/Pixar’s new film’Inside Out’ at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood which was AMAZING! An experience that I was so excited to share with my kids who are so eagerly awaiting the day this movie hits the theaters.
While most of the premieres that you normally see in Hollywood have a red carpet, the carpet for the ‘Inside Out’ Hollywood Premiere was a beautiful shade of purple. Once we arrived at the El Capitan Theatre I couldn’t wait to walk on that purple carpet, eat some amazing food and get a chance to mingle with the celebrities.
For those unfamiliar with Pixar’s new film ‘Inside Out’, the movie features five emotions inside the mind of of an 11-year old girl named Riley who’s parents up and move to San Francisco, a new life for Riley that was happy with her friends and home in Minnesota. The emotions that you will see Riley experience are Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Anger and Fear who work from a control panel inside her mind’s headquarters.
While on the carpet you must have a photo buddy. One that you can take selfies with and one that can take pictures of you to capture those once in a lifetime opportunities. My photo buddy was Jen from The Mom Reviews who happened to get some great pictures of me so that I could share.
On the purple carpet I made sure that Jen snapped a picture of me with each of Riley’s five emotions.
What I thought was really neat was that they re-created the control panel of Riley’s mind headquarters that you will see in the movie. This was perfect for everyone to take pictures in front of.
And here is that same control panel a little busy with some of the stars of the movie like Lewis Black who is the voice of “Anger” and Phyllis Smith who is the voice of “Sadness”. Notice those two came wearing the color of their characters.

For those that came to the premiere with an appetite, there was plenty of food and drinks. Although all of the food was great, these ADORABLE cupcakes were my favorite of the foods available. Almost too cute to eat.
This was the funnest premiere that I have been to yet. Not only were was there plenty of food to snack on, there was also some arts and crafts, games and even a video booth to make your own flip book.
There were plenty of celebrities that attended the “Inside Out” premiere including Amy Poehler, Tori Spelling, Melora Hardin, Tony Hawk and Minnie Driver just to name a few. While eating Mario Lopez was next to me playing a hand toss game with his daughter.
The time was flying at the pre-party and luckily I had the chance to meet Johnny Knoxville and even take a few pictures with him. This was a time that I was glad I had my photo buddy Jen with me to capture those moments.
Once the pre-party was over everyone made their way into the El Capitan to grab their buckets of popcorn, drinks and make their way to their seats to watch “Inside Out”. After the movie was over our group of bloggers made a quick walk over to Mel’s Diner where we had a late dinner, desserts and talked about our thoughts on the movie and purple carpet experience. Stay tuned later this week where I share my “Inside Out” movie review.
