Disclosure – I was invited to attend a live taping of Celebrity Family Feud. Costs and expenses for my trip were covered by Disney but all opinions expressed are my own.
For those of you Family Feud fans, tonight is the first night of Celebrity Family Feud! For the next six weeks, Steve Harvey will host this special version of the show where two celebrities and their families will compete against each other for a chance to win $25,000 for the charity of their choice.
Earlier this month I got to be part of the live studio audience during one of the live tapings for Celebrity Family Feud. When our group of bloggers walked in the studio and took our seats there was music playing and “the crowd warmer” Robin Ervin had the audience clapping, singing and even dancing. The fun had already started before the show even began. I couldn’t help but join in on the excitement with some singing, clapping and dancing in my seat.
Once it was time for the live taping to begin, everything on stage became magical to me! The lighting was on and bright, the cameras were rolling and seeing Steve Harvey on the stage with two celebrities that I grew up watching during my childhood was a once in a lifetime experience.
Those two celebrities that were competing during the live taping of Celebrity Family Feud that I attended was the one and only Vicki Lawrence and Ed Asner. I have a special love for Vicki as I grew up watching Mamas Family with my grandfather. When Vicki Lawrence came onto that stage, I swear she looked as though she had never aged.
Once the game show started, I loved being part of the studio audience. They even told us at a certain time to sit up straight because we were on tv. I grew up watching Family Feud and can always remember the studio audience calling out the answers to the questions at the end during the Fast Money round. I was really excited to be able to be one of those calling out those answers. Know that I will be tuning into this episode to see if I can hear myself because I tried to say those answers as loud as I could.
After the live taping ended and the celebrities left the stage, our group was allowed to go on stage for about 5 minutes to get as many pictures as we could to share with our families and readers.
Although we didn’t get to be part of the actual game show, it was fun taking pictures as if we did!
This wasn’t my first time visiting a studio set but it was my first time being part of a live studio audience. This is something that is on my bucket list for a long time. Actually ever since I thought I was going to attend the last taping of The Late Night Show Starring Johnny Carson only to find out I wasn’t old enough. I left the studio that day a little sad. This experience has made up for it and was even better since this is a show I have always enjoyed watching.
Survey says it is time to get ready for fun and laughs
Also feuding tonight for their favorite charity will be Monica Potter vs Curtis Stone.
