We have the school district’s lunch calendar stuck with a magnet on the fridge. On most days my kids want to bring their own lunch so I always have to keep my pantry stocked with snacks that they will want to pack in their lunch. When buying these snacks I do like when I see the Box Tops For Education™ on the products that I buy because I know that my purchase will help our elementary school. As a shopper and a mom of four, I do tend to buy the products with the Box Tops over the others.
My kids and I LOVE the Betty Crocker™ Fruit Gushers and Fruit By The Foot snacks so I am glad when I can find them in the Mega and Value Packs. Since I work at home this mom has to have snacks too!
I have been proudly clipping the Box Tops for over 15 years now for the same school. The school that all of my children have attended as well as the school I went to for K and 1st grade. Since my oldest started preschool, I have been making sure I clip all the box tops on products that I buy to give to the school. I even have my Nana collecting them for the school too! Although all of my kids now go to different schools, this year we will continue to send them to school with my youngest until he moves on to junior high which at that time will be over 2 decades of helping to support our school.
We all love Lucky Charms at my house so on my shopping trip to Walmart I made sure to grab the big Family Size Lucky Charms that had 5 Box Tops on the box!
Collecting Box Tops has always been something I have enjoyed doing for the school and the kids. For as long as I can remember the school has given the kids incentives to bring in Box Tops such as pizza parties for the class that brings in the most. The librarian who is the one that keeps track of the Box Tops that the kids submit has even been known to give the kids little rewards throughout the years for giving her those Box Tops like picking something from her prize box.
Clipping Box Tops is easy and they sure can add up! The Box Tops are worth $.10 each for the school and they can be used to buy whatever the school needs. Box Tops for Education has contributed over $525 million to participating schools since it launched the program in 1996.
In the past our school’s librarian has used these Box Tops labels to buy new books for the library. I am a fan of books and my kids reading so new books for the library makes me smile. The Box Tops For Education are available on a variety of General Mills® products including Big G Cereals, Betty Crocker, Fiber One, Old El Paso, Pillsbury, Yoplait and more!
Not only did I stock up on snacks for the kids lunches, we also got a head start on our Box Tops collection for this new school year. We won’t be turning them in as we clip them either. We like to click and save! We save for at least a couple months so that we can submit a Ziploc bag of them to make a difference and maybe help to win the class a pizza party!
Walmart has an eBoxTops program where you can earn extra Box Tops for shopping online. For more information about this program visit: https://www.walmart.com/boxtops
