As a child I loved books. I even have some of my favorites from my childhood that I have read to my children. As I grew older I wanted to write books. I thought I wanted to write young adult fiction but so far that passion for writing has turned me into a full time blogger. Since I love books I have always encourage my children to read. I love when they love books, it makes me smile.
My seven year old son LOVES the book The Pigeon Finds A Hot Dog. He has checked this book out a few times from the library since his homework requires reading a book each day. This is one book he never gets tired of reading. So I thought I would surprise him with The Pigeon Needs A Bath, another book in his favorite pigeon book collection.
It is important to start reading to your children as soon as they are born. It is also important that they are reading every day. Whether you are reading to them or they are reading to you, make sure that you encourage them to read every day.

Reading is important but writing and singing can be important too! My son not only likes to read but his first grade teacher gave him an award for his passion for writing stories. He also likes to draw and impresses me everyday with his doodles. Today I got this from my son before he left for school.
Even though I have never cared for my voice, I sang to all of my babies as soon as they were born. When they get older it can be fun to sign and make up your own nursery rhymes.
