As a parent I am always trying to come up with creative ways to get my children to eat their vegetables. I have even been known to hide the veggies into some of our meals without them even knowing. When they are young sometimes they just don’t know what is good for them yet and pursuading them to eat vegetables that they don’t want to eat is not always easy.
Luckily there are companies like Birds Eye that create meals like the Disney By Steamfresh that are geared for kids that include both pasta which they love and vegetables that they need. I am excited about the Disney By Steamfresh frozen meals that come with pasta that is shaped like some of the popular Disney characters including Frozen, Cars and Mickey Mouse.
Not only was I excited about these Disney themed meals from Birds Eye, my kids were excited to try them too! When I put the Frozen shaped pasta into a cute bowl with a cute spoon, my daughter couldn’t wait to try the Pasta & Peas with Parmesan Cheese Sauce. Even though peas are not her favorite, she ate them with the pasta.
My son was more excited to try the pasta shaped like Disney’s Cars characters. He also was excited to try the pasta shaped like Mickey Mouse too!
I am one that loves almost every type of vegetable and have been buying the Birds Eye vegetables for years. There are a couple vegetables that I won’t eat like radishes but I pretty much enjoy them all. While I prefer using fresh vegetables when possible, I don’t always have them on hand and being able to grab a bag of Birds Eye vegetables from the freezer is always handy.
Birds Eye has also partnered with the Environmental Media Associations “Green My School” celebrity gardens program to instill the importance of plant-based nutrition or students and their families. Birds Eye is committed to moving the needle on vegetable consumption in the United States – fresh or frozen.
American pop singer Lance Bass is on the Board of Directors of EMA and helped launch their inaugural national garden in his hometown of Clinton MS on April 20th with the students from Eastside Elementary School. He even got to visit with one of his old teachers.
Birds Eye unlocks the wonder of vegetables and makes them accessible and enjoyable to everyone, everyday. For more information on the Birds Eye products visit www.birdseye.com
