This is a partnered post with Birds Eye. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
I am one that loves most vegetables. My kids on the other hand do not and can be picky when it comes to the vegetables that they want to eat, especially my son. While I am always trying to remind my kids why eating a variety of vegetables is important, there are times when I have to get a little creative to get them to want to eat their veggies.
This week my kids start school which means that their schedules are going to get busy. Even though things may get busy we have to remember to eat our fruits and vegetables! Did you know that only 28% of dinners include a vegetable?
Birds Eye is working to help families reach the goal of eating at least one veggie with every meal. Birds Eye is continuing to get kids of all ages excited to eat their veggies with Steamfresh sides featuring Disney character shaped pasta. This year they have added more fun products to their line to convince the older kids and even the grown-ups to eat better. Some of the new products include:
- Yoda shaped pasta & broccoli in white cheese sauce
- R2D2 shaped pasta & green beans in marinara sauce
- Spiderman shaped pasta & broccoli in yellow cheese sauce
- Avengers shaped whole grain pasta & peas in butter sauce
My whole family enjoys pasta and the Disney By Steamfresh sides make for a quick and easy meal that also include a side of veggies. I am keeping a variety of these handy in the freezer for the kids to make when they are looking for something that is easy to make after school to give them fuel to do their homework.
For those that prefer something a little more on the princess side Birds Eye also has the Disney Frozen Steamfresh sides that are prefect for the Frozen fans!
These are just one of many meals that you can make that can help encourage your kids to eat vegetables. Visit the Birds Eye website to find tips, recipes and more at www.birdseye.com.
