Summer vacation is officially over and the kids are now back in school. One way to make sure they are getting the fuel they need is by sending them to school with a lunch they love. I like to get creative and recently put together an Animal Themed Bento Box Idea that my kids really liked using some of the @TysonFoods to #HelpFuelForSchool!
I went to my local Albertsons store and purchased a few Tyson varieties for this back-to-school recipe treat!
While my kids do enjoy eating the school lunch, once in a while, they also love when mom packs them a cool lunch. My kids are all smiles when I make bento box themed lunches for them to take to school that they can show off to their friends. It can be fun to be creative in the kitchen while knowing that you are sending them to school with food you know they will eat.
Animal Themed Bento Box Idea
Ingredients:
- 6 Tyson chicken nuggets (heated)
- 1 Ball Park angus beef frank
- 1 Mini Sub Roll
- 1 Lettuce Leaf (or more)
- 1 Nori Sheet
- 2 slices of cheese (provolone and cheddar)
- 2 Hard-boiled eggs
- 1 Kiwi
Directions:
Step One: Using scissors or a pastry cutter cut six small circles of provolone cheese for the eyes. Use a hole punch or scissors to cut six small circles of the nori for the pupils. Next cut three small triangles from the cheddar cheese to make the beaks. Place eyes and beak on Tyson chicken nuggets. Set aside.
Step Two: Add mini sub roll in bento box and fill with lettuce leaf. Slice the Ball Park angus beef frank in half along its length. Take one half and slice off one third of it to create the dog’s head. Use the other half of the third to create the ears and leg. Use a hole punch or scissors to cut two small circles of the nori for the eyes and the nose.
Step Three: Add the animal themed hard boiled eggs to your bento box. You can use animal themed egg molds to create the animal shaped hard boiled eggs or you can use an edible food marker to make your own. It is easy to create an egg that looks like a cat.
Step Four: Place three heated Tyson chicken nuggets on the bottom of the bento box and then add the eyes and beaks on top.
Step Five: Add some sliced kiwi for some extra fuel! Or you can add your own favorite fruits like strawberries and grapes to make it even more exciting.
Get Fueled For School With Tyson Foods
Tyson Foods helps to make preparing meals at home EASY! You can always find some of the Tyson products in my fridge and freezer!
My kids LOVE the Tyson chicken nuggets because they can heat them without any help and it only takes 1 minute in the microwave for five tasty nuggets. I like that they are made with NO artificial ingredients! I also like that they are available in a 2 POUND bag at Safeway which comes in handy because the kids are not the only ones eating them.
When it comes to BBQ’ing the Ball Park angus beef franks have always been a crowd favorite and they also make for a perfect snack on the go! I also buy the Hillshire Farm Smoked Sausage because I love the flavor it gives to my breakfast burritos in the morning, and it’s fully cooked so you get a savory meal with none of the hassel!
Right now when you buy $15 worth of participating Tyson products at your local Safeway, Vons/Pavilions, Randalls/Tom Thumb & Albertsons you can get fueled with a $5 gift card download. All you need to do is buy the products and then snap a picture of your receipt and text FUEL to 70700!

Haha how cute!!! It must be a lot of work though. I have tons of kids and they’d probably love if I did this kinda stuff more.
