One of my favorite things to make with wonton wrappers is dessert! I recently used the Twin Dragon Asian Won Ton Wrappers to make Fried Cherry Cheesecake Wontons that are so yummy! These are easy to make and you can even get creative with them by adding powdered sugar or maybe drizzle some caramel. Next time I may try them with maybe apples or even peaches.
I am participating in another recipe contest with fellow food bloggers, this time with JSL Foods! They have a variety of products that can come in handy when making meals for your family like Won Ton Wrappers, Egg Roll Wrappers, Potsticker Wrappers and more! I created a fun and easy recipe using the Twin Dragon Won Ton Wrappers that are AWESOME!

Fried Cherry Cheesecake Wontons
Ingredients
- 30 Twin Dragon Won Ton Wrappers
- 8 ounces cream cheese room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 can cherry pie filling
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
-
In a large mixing bowl beat the cream cheese, sugar and flour until smooth. Then add 1 egg, sour cream, and vanilla until continue to mix until blended.
-
Create an egg wash. In a small bowl add 1 egg and the 1/2 cup up water and mix until blended.
-
On a clean and flat surface place 1 won ton wrapper. Dip your finger in egg wash and paint all for of the edges. Add 2 teaspoons of the cheesecake mixture on the center of the wrapper. Add about 1 teaspoon of the cherry pie filling on top. Bring the corners of the wrappers together to the center and pinch together to form an X. Pinch all of the edges to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers.
-
Add 1 to 1 1/2 inches of vegetable oil to a large skillet and heat oil to medium high. Add about 4-5 wontons at a time to the oil and fry, turning each of them occasionally until they are golden brown. Remove from oil once golden on a plate lined with a paper towel or napkins to absorb excess oil.
-
Allow to cool and enjoy!

Step one in this is strange. You say add egg to sour cream ….. and then later to use egg as a wash to seal it. Other than that they look divine. I’m going to use pwd sugar instead of granulated. Can’t wait to make. Thanks

I think what this means is that although you add the egg to the sour cream, you ALSO use an egg in the egg-wash to “glue” the won-tons together. IMO…you don’t really need another egg to to “glue” or hold the won-tons together. You can simply use water and they mend really well where you want to seam them together. just my 2-cents!

Could these be cooked in an air fryer?
