There are days when I want eggs, bacon and toast for breakfast. There are also those days when I want something SWEET! My kids LOVE when I make my homemade cream cheese danishes which are really EASY to make. Keep scrolling for my Crescent Roll Cream Cheese Danish Recipe.
I almost always have the crescent rolls in a can in the fridge. I almost always have cream cheese too! With just a few other ingredients that you might already have in your kitchen you can make up some homemade danishes that are PERFECT for breakfast.
In case you are wondering why my danishes are PINK, I used food coloring since I made them for Valentine’s Day last month. You don’t have to color them which saves time but if you want to get creative, a little dab of food coloring food coloring gel goes a long way! If you prefer orange, you can make orange cream cheese danishes or maybe even blue or purple!
How To Make A Crescent Roll Cream Cheese Danish
First you will want to unroll the crescent roll dough into 4 rectangles and seal the perforations by pinching them. Once you have all of them sealed, brush melted butter and sprinkle with about 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar evenly.
Next you will want to roll up each of the four dough rectangles into a log and pinch to seal.
Next you will gently take each of the logs and coil them into a spiral.
Using your fingers, gently press down on the middle of the dough to make an indentation for the cream cheese filling.
Once you are done making your little wells in the dough place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Then fill each of the wells with about 1/4 cup of the cream cheese mixture you will make with cream cheese, sugar and vanilla extract.
Bake at 350 degrees for 16-18 minutes (until danishes start to turn golden). Remove from oven and add a little drizzle of homemade frosting on the top.
Crescent Roll Cream Cheese Danish Recipe
A recipe for cream cheese danishes using crescent rolls.
Ingredients
- 1 Can Crescent Rolls (8 rolls)
- 4 oz cream cheese softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbs melted butter
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar for glaze
- 2 tbs milk for glaze
- food coloring (optional)
Instructions
-
In a bowl beat together the cream cheese and 1/4 cup of the granulated sugar. Add vanilla and stir until it is blended into mixture. If you want your cream cheese to have color this is when you would want to add it. I used Wilton's Icing Color in Pink.
-
Unroll the crescent roll dough into 4 rectangles and seal perforations by pinching. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar.
-
Roll up each of the four dough rectangles into a log and pinch along the seams to seal.
-
Take logs and coil them into a spiral. Slightly press down in the middle to make a well for the cream cheese filling
-
Place each of the dough spirals on a cookie sheet that has been lined with parchment paper.
-
Bake at 350 degrees for about 16 minutes, just until the danishes start to golden. Remove from oven and drizzle with glaze that you will make with 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 1/2 tbs milk.
As you can see, these cream cheese danish crescent rolls are EASY to make! As I mentioned before you can get creative with the colors. You can also get creative with the glaze. I suggest adding a drop of almond extract to your glaze or even vanilla if you have some to give it some extra flavor!
