Nickelodeon’s Monkey Quest Review

If you find my two oldest daughters online, they are probably playing games. If your children are like mine, they enjoy online gaming and especially online virtual worlds. They have a few favorites and even mom has played along with them.

We recently had the opportunity to play Nickelodeon’s newest game, Monkey Quest. This is an online game for kids ages 8 – 12 that has become of of the most visited kids’ virtual world sites that has attracted more than 3 million registered users. I knew when I told them that we had to review an online game, they were going to be EXCITED. Since they love the “virtual online worlds”, I knew they would really like this game.

With Monkey Quest, your children are in charge and can create their own adventures. The game takes place in the land of Ook, a mysterious world where the monkeys rule. When they play, they can join one of five tribes and band together against the dark force that threatens them all. Players are encouraged to work together to defeat the monsters in the game, solve puzzles and explore the different locations in this virtual world.

Monkey Quest is Rated E for everyone and is FREE to play. The game of course has a payment option for the players who want to enhance their gaming experience. If you want to expand your child’s gaming experience, you can choose a subscription plan or a “pay as you go” option through Nickelodeon’s virtual currency, NickCash. Monkey Quest subscriptions are available at $9.95 a month; $24.95 for 3 months and $79.95 for 1 year. You can purchase a $25 Nickelodeon Game Card at Toys“R”Us and receive a $15 of bonus game play that includes an extra one month membership to the Monkey Quest game and 500 extra NickCash goods to redeem for goodies for your monkey.     My daughter is 15 but plays all kinds of stuff. Right now we are both addicted to Words with Friends. Lol. I love that it’s what the kids are playing though, esp with school about to start. It’s getting their thinking caps back on.
