Since I am one that enjoys cooking, I also am a big fan of the Rubbermaid products. When I spend my time cooking up meals for my family and there is food that is left over, I want to be able to save them so that we can enjoy some the next day. Now in the past, I have always used plastic Rubbermaid products. Before, when I would hear the name “Rubbermaid”, I would automatically picture plastic containers with lids. I am sure there are many of you that think the same way.
Now my thinking has changed! I received a set of the 8 Piece Rubbermaid Glass Containers with Easy Find Lids for review and I am impressed. Ever since I have been trying to be more “eco-friendly”, I have been trying to buy more glass products than plastic, especially when it comes to items that we use in the kitchen such as cups, straws, plates, etc.
When I first heard that Rubbermaid had glass containers with lids, I got excited. I was even more excited when they arrived and I was able to start using them. Not only are these microwave safe, you can also use them in the oven (up to 425 degrees)! That means if I bake something in it and cook more than we need, I can always pop the lid on it and stick it in the fridge. Then the next day, pop it back in the microwave to re-heat. This past month these glass containers have really came in handy.
Here are some features that I want to mention:
- The bases and lids are BPA FREE
- Oven, microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe
- Bases and lids neatly nest inside each other for compact organization in your cabinets
- Features the Easy Find Lids organization system – lids snap to the bottom of the container and to each other to make finding the right lid quick and easy
I like that there are a variety of sizes, especially the smallest one!
I use my small Rubbermaid glass container to store my leftover fondant when I am baking and making my pretty cakes! One feature that is important is the built-in gasket that creates a leak-proof seal to keep my food airtight. Now I can make my fondant the night before and store it in these glass containers so I can use it the next day, when it applies onto the cake the best.

I currently just use the plastic ones made by ziplock but I think the plastic gives the foods a died down no zest in flavor if stored long and would love to exsperience the glass ones by rubbermaid, You know not only would these glass ones be able to let you see and present a very pretty jello layered mold , it will give it a better taste to while stored, great review as well thanks

I currently use Tupperware to store leftovers.
we just have a bunch of cheap plastic ones that are now stained all kinds of crazy colors from being used so often and that TOTALLY grosses me out. the glass would be amazing!

I’ve started using all glass too when I noticed the plastic kind of melting a little in the microwave.
We usually use the containers that lunch meat comes in but we also use some Rubbermaid.

Would love to win this and try these out. Am a big fan of Rubbermaid products. Currently, we use bowls with plastic wrap and cheap (disposable) plastic containers. Neither is a great solution. They don’t seal as well as is needed for real preservation.
Also followed on Twitter (@davecgibson) for extra entry.
I bought the plastic Rubbermaid set, but my hubby is ruining them by heating stuff up in the microwave for too long……..so I am wanting the glass set for him to use!

I use plastic containers, but I am trying to be more healthy and get rid of anything that could be toxic. Plus the containers are all mismatched and the plastic gets warped.

I currently store our leftovers in plastic containers or on a plate or in a bowl with plastic wrap. I’d love to have some glass storage containers so I can toss the plastic.

I have random pieces of cheap plastic from over the years that I am using because I need to get some new, good stuff. I store my leftovers in whatever I can find. I’ve gotten pretty creative (desperate actually). Lol.

I have a family of 7, and we cook 3 meals a day. I store my leftovers in Ziplock plastic containers. And or I take my lunch to work everyday. I have to use storage containers to store extra food in the fridge and not take up too much space.
I use Tupperware.
