A Little About My Whirlpool Washer and Dryer Duet

Just a couple months ago, Whirlpool and Mom Central announced 50 influential mom bloggers to test drive their new Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer. You cannot even imagine, or maybe you can just how excited I was when I got the news that I was chosen to be a Whirlpool Test Drive Moms.

Can you imagine the excitement and anticipation I was feeling as I waited for these….

For the last couple years, I have really wanted front loaders. In reality, I have wanted a brand new washer and dryer for about 8 years.  When I seen the fancy loading front loading washer and dryers come out a few years ago, I put those on my wish list for whenever I “become rich”.  I lived in an apartment for years which always had a washer and dryer, so there was never a want. It is not until I moved into our first house that I wanted a washer and dryer that was brand new.

I have always settled for “used” but new washer and dryers throughout the years and now I am the proud owner of a Whirlpool Front Loading Washer and Dryer Duet. Mine are pictured below, all I need now is a pretty laundry room like the ones pictured above. Mine are in my garage, so don’t mind my pretty background.

Just when I had my daughters trained to do the laundry, it has now become my chore again. My husband says that nobody is allowed to use the washer and dryer but mom. I am not going to complain because I don’t mind doing laundry anymore.

One thing I used to dislike about doing laundry is measuring and pouring the soap. My light is a little dim where I do the laundry, so I never know if I am over or under measuring the soap.

With my new Whirlpool Duet, I have a Precision Dispense option that will measure my soap for me. The Precision Dispense is a blue dispenser cartridge in a drawer that pulls out on the top of  my washer (see picture). This awesome cartridge hols up to 18.5 ounces of liquid HE laundry detergent. I just fill it up and let it work it’s wonders. For me, with all the laundry that I do on a weekly basis, this saves me time.

Call me spoiled, but I LOVE this feature. It happens to be my FAVORITE feature among many of these beauties. The next would be all the different cycles! Yes lots of cycles to choose from!

I am actually having fun testing out all the different cycles of the washer and the dryer. There are so many options, it was at first a little overwhelming.  These are just some of the cycles of my washer:

• Normal/Casual
• Bulky Items
• Allergen
• Heavy Duty
• Whitest Whites
• Jeans

So my dryer has a bunch of neat cycles too. My favorite thing about my Whirlpool dryer is the sensor in this machine. I like that I can put my clothes in the dryer, select the cycle, press start and it will sense the load to determine just how long to dry the clothes for. It also can adjust throughout the load to ensure your clothes are dry when you open the door.

I also want to mention that my clean clothes now SMELL GOOD! With using the new washer and dryer, my clothes actually smell clean. I now can enjoy fresh clean towels, bedding and fresh smelling clothes. My husband is constantly talking about how impressed he is with the way the laundry now smells.
