One thing I hope my children do NOT do when they turn 18 is obtain credit cards like I did. I had to learn the hard way about credit cards, which took years to pay off. I now stick with using debit cards or prepaid cards for my purchases. I like to spend my money that I have already earned and save using my credit cards for emergency situations.
If you are looking for a prepaid card, I recommend the American Express Prepaid Card. The American Express Prepaid Card has NO FEES. This means that you will NOT be charged for purchasing the card online, monthly maintenance, the activation, your balance inquiries, alerts, card replacement, foreign currency conversion or loading money on the card via bank account.
When using this card, you have control over your weekly or monthly spending. What is neat is that you can create and manage additional cards for others too. For instance, if could set up a card for a child in college so they can only spend so much per week or month. Or here is another situation. Maybe you have a family member or friend that watches your children while you work, you could set up a card for them to use when they need to spend money on your child. These are just two scenerios where the American Express Prepaid Card can come in handy.
Not only does being able to manage your prepaid card online handy, so is having access to Roadside Service. Those that have the American Express Prepaid Card also have access to
- World-class 24-hour Customer Service
- Purchase Protection
- American Express Selects
- Roadside Assistance
- Global Assist Services
So now if you thought that all prepaid cards were the same, I just showed you how the American Express Prepaid Card just may be a little better!
