One of my favorite things to cook for my husband and kids is pasta. I normally will cook spaghetti, but I tend to change it up sometimes to give some variety to my meals. Not only do I think that pasta is an easy meal to cook, it is also something that everyone in my house will eat.
We were recently given the opportunity to review some products from Barilla. I had never even realized how many different products Barilla actually had until I went looking to purchase a couple items with the coupons I had. It was a little hard to pick what I wanted to buy with all the choices. They have pasta products in their “Classic Blue Boxes” as well as Barilla Plus products, jars of yummy sauces, whole grain pasta and more!
If you have never had a chance to peek at all the Barilla products, you are going to find they have all sorts of noodles. In just their “Classic Blue Box”, you will find Angel Hair, Campanelle, Cellentani, Cut Spaghetti, Ditalini, Elbows, Farfalle, Fettuccine, Fettuccine Rigate, Fiori, Gemelli, Jumbo Shells, Large Shells, Lasagna (oven ready), Lasagna (wavy), Linguine, Linguine Fini, Manicotti, Medium Shells, Mezze Penne, Mezzi Rigatoni, Mostaccioli, Orzo, Pastina, Penne, Pipette, Rigatoni, Rotini, Spaghetti, Spaghetti Rigati, Stelline, Thick Spaghetti, TriColor Fiori, TriColor Rigatoni and Ziti pasta. Ladies, these are just the noodles in the BLUE BOXES. My head is spinning from all these noodle names.
The night before last I cooked some of the Barilla Penne pasta. While the pasta was boiling I made my sauce to top the noodles with that included the Barilla sauce, cooked hamburger meat along with my variety of seasonings and spices. This is a very easy meal to make and all the kids were happy!
If you are looking for some delicious recipes your family is sure to love, check out the Barilla “Share The Table” program that was launched this past year. This program has been designed to help empower families to make the most of dinnertime. This website has a wealth of delicious recipes from famous chefs like Mario Batali. You will even find they have a FREE placemat creator to make meals at your table even more FUN! If you have kids, be sure to check out the “Kid Friendly Recipes” for ideas on meals your little ones will enjoy.
To make things even better, Barilla now offers “Pasta Friday Sweepstakes” with weekly winners of pasta and pasta sauce. They have the “Mealtime Moments Contest,” that gives the families who commit to enhancing their mealtimes with the opportunity to share their stories and win some awesome prizes throughout the summer. For each person that becomes a fan of meaningful meals at ShareTheTable.com, Barilla will donate $1 to Meals on Wheels Association of America, helping seniors at risk of hunger get the nutritious food they need. How cool is that?
We try to eat dinner at the table as a family as often as possible. This creates a time where the family can spend time together and talk about what has happened throughout the day or week. How do you spend your dinnertime with your family?
