Last month I did something that is unthinkable. I went to Disney World with a friend without my children and had a BLAST. Best part is that I don’t feel bad about it either. Sometimes parents have to go to fun places like Disney World to have some fun, without the kids.
As long as you bring home a souvenir, you just might be good!
As part of the #DisneyGlobalEvent trip that I went on last month, our group was able to go park hopping at Disney World for an entire day. My friend Tricia, The Night Owl Mama and I decided that we were going to going to go park hopping to some of the different parks at Disney World. We had a little over 12 hours to play and thought it would be fun to try to visit 3 parks for about 4 hours each.
On the morning of our Disney Day, we were all dropped off at Epcot Center. Since this has been a place I have always wanted to see, we started our first part of the day enjoying as much as we could see at Epcot. When we first arrived, I had to take a picture of Spaceship Earth which Epcot’s icon that most Disney fans think of when they hear the term “Epcot Center”.
If you have never been to Epcot or never heard of it, it is a very unique 300 acre park that was inspired by Walt Disney that is divided into a Future World and World Showcase. Not only will you be able to enjoy entertainment and shows that are focused around technology and some of the future innovations, you can also take a stroll through the World Showcase that consists of Pavilions that wrap around the World Showcase Lagoon that feature different attractions, shows, restaurants and some culture from 11 different countries.
I think one of my favorite parts of Epcot Center were all the neat Disney themed floral displays at the International Flower and Garden Festival. I took quite a few pictures of these displays, but wanted to pose in front of this one.
After spending some time at Epcot, Tricia and I headed over to Magic Kingdom. Since I LOVE the Disneyland here in California, I just had to go to Magic Kingdom. Tricia at first didn’t want to go to Magic Kingdom because she felt bad that she didn’t have her children, but I assured her we wouldn’t stay that long. I am from California and don’t know when or if I will ever make it back to Florida, so I wanted to be able to go to Magic Kingdom to at least take a peek at what it looks like and snap some photos to prove I had been there.
During our short time at Magic Kingdom I seen a couple cute performance with some of my Disney characters, I took a short rest on the PeopleMover and I got to ride Space Mountain! This is a ride that I did NOT get a chance to ride when I went to Disneyland in 2010. Even though we waited in line for 2 hours to ride Space Mountain, but it was worth it and I definitely SCREAMED….
For our last few hours at Disney World, we headed over to Hollywood Studios. I will be honest and say that I had never heard of this theme park until last month. I am glad that I have found out about it now because I definitely want to go back. At Hollywood Studios you will find live shows, backstage tours and some thrilling attractions such as The Hollywood Tower Hotel.
When we first arrived at Hollywood Studios it was the evening and we headed over to one of the restaurants to have a burger and fries. After dinner we found a neat little band playing in the walkway playing some good classic rock and roll songs. Tricia and I got our groove on singing and dancing, enjoying the little time left we had here.
We ended the night with a ride on The Hollywood Tower Hotel which was a flipping BLAST. I haven’t screamed that loud in a LONG time. After the ride we needed a place to relax and found that show Fantasmic was about to start. We found a seat and finished our evening here watching this awesome how.
Watching Fantasmic was was a PERFECT way to end our fun filled day at Disney World!
Having one day at Disney World was definitely not enough. I think there is enough things to do and see if I had a week to spend. I am thankful that I did get to see the parks and attractions that I did when I was there and definitely want to make plans in the future to make my way back.
