If you have been following along my blog, you probably know that I LOVE to cook. I have been trying to cook new things each week and it has been fun. Since I started a cooking blog, the only way to create new content is to make new food. Well, that is my excuse anyways.
This past month I have been cooking using some mixes from Namaste. If you are unfamiliar with Namaste, they are a small and manufacturer that started in 2000 that creates a line of food products/mixes that contains NO Wheat, NO Gluten, No Soy, No Potato, No Dairy, No Casein, No Peanuts and NO Tree Nuts. I personally do not have allergies to these, but I definitely wanted to give this stuff a try.
The first mix that we tried was the Namaste Muffin Mix. This is like a all purpose muffin mix that allows you to add extra ingredients to make your own muffin treats. I chose to add smashed banana (like you use when making banana nut bread) and of course chopped walnuts.
When the muffins came out, they were a little yellow like cornbread but they tasted very YUMMY. My husband told me that they were the best banana nut muffins he had ever tasted. We both agreed they tasted great and were very moist. The secret is he doesn’t know it came from a mix. For all he knows, I made the muffins from scratch, so shhhh.
The second item we got to try is the Namaste Pizza Crust Mix. Now this was the very FIRST time I made pizza from dough. Now I have bought take-n-bake pizza, but I had never made my own pizza dough and I have to admit I thought it was FUN. With this mix, you can make two 12″ inch pizzas. Of course, I have to add pepperoni because a pizza is not a pizza without pepperoni!
On the Namaste Foods website, you can find a variety of food mixes. You will find bread mixes, pasta meals, breakfast mixes, brownie mixes, frosting mixes and more. You will also find a bunch of yummy recipes that you can use the mixes with. If you have food allergies such as allergies to gluten and you love to bake, I suggest trying some of these mixes too!
Guess what? The nice people over at Namaste has offered one of my LUCKY readers a chance to WIN a Namaste Prize Pack. This 1awesome prize pack will include a Namaste Tote with perhaps a pasta mix and a baking mix, coupons, literature and assorted goodies

The word “Namaste” (pronounced “Naa-Maa-Stay”) is an ancient Sanskrit word with no literal translation. After many hours reviewing all the different translations, we decided we like this one the best.
“The Spirit within me honors and respects the Spirit within you.”
The word ‘Spirit’ in this context has no particular religious connotation. You could substitute the word ‘Heart’ or ‘Soul’ if you like. The essence of the phrase is simply that the best part of me wishes you well – in every way. In seeking to offer you delicious gluten and allergen-free foods, we nourish the body. In nourishing the body, we hope to help nourish the mind and the spirit so you can enjoy optimum health

Evaporated cane juice is a healthy alternative to refined sugar. While both sweeteners are made from sugar cane, evaporated cane juice does not undergo the same degree of processing that refined sugar does. Therefore, unlike refined sugar, it retains more of the nutrients found in sugar cane.
