Now that we are almost through September, I am guessing that most of our children have gone back to school. My children started last month and it sure has been busy with two of them joining sports this year. Between practices and games, there isn’t too much free time for them these days.
For tweens and teens, one thing that is always a bummer is having your period when you are at school and especially in sports . Not only is it a bummer having your period at school, it can also be very embarrassing to start your period at school. Have a tween that hasn’t started and might have questions? Be sure to have her visit: www.ubykotex.com/helloperiod.
I happened to be one of the unlucky girls that got to start their period when I was in junior high. For me it was not FUN since I remember having to go to the office to the nurse to ask for some help. I made sure my daughters were prepared in case it ever happened to them.
Kotex makes a cute line of feminine products for tweens that I have a stock of in my pantry. For some girls it can be embarrassing to ask mom or dad to buy pads so I always make sure I have enough in the cupboard so they never have to ask. They are able to keep some in their backpacks, purses or locker at school in case their period comes unexpectedly.
For pads, I just think the the colorful packaging of the U By Kotex Tween products is pretty COOL too!

I’ve got a ways to go until I need to have my girls ready for this talk, but I want to make sure they’re ready. Thanks for the post!

I know the school staff must be used to that happening on a daily basis, but it sure doesn’t make it less humiliating for the girls. It’s a good idea for her to have some supplies in lots of places!

knowing when to expect your period is helpful! I definitely need calenders and iphone apps to keep me on schedule. Hopefully my daughter will be better about keeping track of it when she starts!
