Ever since I got my iPhone4S in August, I have been playing with Siri to see what she can do or what she will say back when I ask her certain things. For those that have an iPhone with the Siri option, here are some things that she can do that you might not know.
- Send text messages – If you want to use your voice to send a text, use Siri to send anyone in your contacts a text message. I have used this when I was stuck in traffic and had to send a message to my daughter that I was on my way since I do not text and drive.
- Check email, send replies, and compose new mail – Now I haven’t used Siri for my email since I prefer to use Thunderbird, but it is possible. I might have to try it out just for fun.
- Set & delete alarms – With your voice you can have Siri set an alarm on our phone as well as delete your set alarms. This was the first thing I did with Siri to see how it worked but haven’t used it since.
- Update your Facebook & Twitter status – For those of you that have Facebook or Twitter setup on your iPhone, you can use Siri to send an update to your Facebook wall or send a Tweet to your followers.
- Get the weather and time anywhere – If you want to know what time it is in China, Siri will tell you.
- Find movie times – Want to find out what time a certain movie is playing, you can ask Siri and she will give you the times.
- Find restaurants, stores and more – If you are looking for a particular location such as Walmart, ask Siri where Walmart is and she will give you all the locations nearby.
- Look up sports scores – For those of you that sports, Siri can help you find the sports scores you are looking for. I haven’t asked my Siri to do this yet, but I may one day.
- Open the camera app – Tell Siri to take a photo and she will open the photo app on your phone.
These are just some of the things I have found that Siri can do. I also have found it entertaining to ask Siri certain questions just to hear the response I will get.

I should have waited to get the iPhone5 but I didn’t. I am now wanting one and I have only had my iPhone4S for just a few months.
Thunderbird is like Outlook but made by Mozilla and also FREE!
I had to disable Siri on my phone because my three year old kept calling people on accident using it! But I didn’t know it could do half of that stuff- I’m impressed!
I love Siri! However, a lot of times she is busy or can’t understand me:(

What a neat app.. we have siri downloaded on the ipad but I never use it because it needs internet connection and when we’re out, we don’t always have one…

Clearly I’ve been undervaluing Siri because I didn’t know she could do all that. Oh she’s in trouble now…no more resting on your laurels, Siri!
My son was telling me that if you ask it where you can dump a body it would answer. it gives you a list of dumps, morgues etc weird huh?
I need Siri to take corporeal form and help around the house. Is there an app for that? 😉
I just got an iPhone! This is so awesome, I have to admit I haven’t used Siri yet at all!
I wanted Siri but when my hubby got me the phone he didn’t think I needed it!
My son has the iPhone4 and we mess around with Siri all the time!
My son loves asking Siri questions. Like, “Do you love, me?” Siri’s response, “I never really thought about it.” 🙂

Heh. THIS is the ONLY reason I want an iPhone… isn’t that hilarious? My Samsung SIII just doesn’t have the same SIRI voice.
