Now that the new year is here there are many of us that have already started our new years resolutions. Many of you probably a have a resolution of saving money on that list! Saving money can be hard but there are ways that you can save money by doing things that you already do.
Five Tips To Help Save Money
For those of you looking to get ahead this year and save money to buy something special or maybe go on a trip or family vacation, below are five tips that you will find to help save money:
Tip #1 – Get a cash rewards credit card and use it to pay for your groceries, utilities, gas and everything else that you spend money on that you can use your card. When using a cash rewards credit card you will earn cash rebates on stuff that you already buy anyway.
Tip #2 – If you have a big family buy a second freezer any buy your food in bulk. Buying in bulk saves money but can be a bit of a trouble with those with a large family and one one place to store the food in. Having an extra freezer allows you more space to buy in bulk and stock up on those products you find on sale.
Tip #3 – Vacuum seal your food! By just taking a couple minutes to vacuum seal your food, you can add MONTHS to the sealed life of the food. You can seal your food for the fridge and the freezer.
Tip #4 – Make your own cleaning products and beauty supplies. Laundry detergent, soap and other multi-purpose cleaners are something that we all use. It can be cheaper to make your own and maybe even more environment friendly.
Tip #5 – Use coupons! Clip coupons for products that you normally buy. Don’t clip them on products to buy just because you can save money on them, clip those coupons on products that you are going to already buy so that the coupon is just like money in your pocket. For those that don’t want to clip paper coupons, use coupon and saving apps like Shopular so you can save money from your cell phone without having to clip and save coupons. Shopular is a great way save money with online coupons, find hot deals in your neighborhood and more.

I use coupons and menu plan and buy in bulk when I can. I learned the hard way though that buying in bulk and then having your food expire before you use it, is no good at all, I didn’t realize ketchup had an expiration date until I bought ten bottles of it and had to throw half away…but at least that waste of money was only five bulks since they were on sale for a dollar. Great tips here!

I do clip coupons on items I actually use ONLY! I live alone so I would never buy in bulk–what a waste of money that would be for me–for families it is a great idea.
