My stepdaughter Hailey came to visit this month for a week. She moved to Texas a couple years ago with her mom and comes to visit on her school vacations. My family so looks soooo forward to the day that Hailey arrives, but we all cry when it comes time for her to come back home. This is a picture of right when the airlines called her to board. We all cried as she boarded, even her 3 year old brother who doesn’t understand where she is going.

Awww.. it’s so sad that she had to go. But, on the good side, it’s good to know that she’s sad to leave and not running for the plane! It can be hard to have such a close relationship so many miles away.

Yes, definitely glad she doesn’t run for the plane. It is such a sad drive home too. I am thankful that the school system has the breaks that they do to allow time for us to fly her home to visit.

Tami,
Yes she will definitely be back. She is 12 now and I have been a part of her life since she is 2. She knows me as being one of her mommys for as long as she can remember.

I have a daughter that was given primary custody to her Dad that has remarrried. I admire you for sharing the love you have for your stepdaughter. It takes a special person to accept someone elses child as their own, which is not the case with my daughter. When someone remarries, in a child eyes & many others, it appears that someone was chosen over them when all the adults arent involved in a mature, respectful & mature mannerism with the children. Its so important that they feel loved by everone involved….
