Disclosure – I was invited to the #PhineasAndFerbEvent & #InsideOutEvent. Costs and expenses for my trip were covered by Disney but all opinions expressed are my own.
Earlier this week during my trip to Los Angeles I visited Walt Disney Studios for the #PhineasAndFerbEvent where I got to watch the LAST episode of Phineas And Ferb called “The Last Day Of Summer”. After screening the episode we had the opportunity to do a Q+A with the Creators and Executive Producers Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh that left a lasting impression on probably everyone in the room.
My 7 year old son Christopher is a BIG fan of the show and finding out that the show was coming to the end was a little sad for me. My son had wanted me to ask them a question that I couldn’t ask because there are no more shows being created. Phineas and Ferb is a show that although I haven’t seen all of the episodes, I can tell you that I have probably heard almost all of them. While I am busy working on my computer on my never ending schedule of posts, my son has spent many hours in the last few years glued to the tv screen watching Phineas, Ferb and especially his favorite, Perry!

When the Q&A started nobody knew that it was going to be emotional. During this time there was laughter but many tears where flowing in that room as well. This is a show that these two have been working on for over a decade that has been brought into so many homes that has provided and endless amount of laughter for our children. Some of these episodes that we have seen have been actual experiences from their own childhood. Then some of these episodes have really had an effect on others and even changed their lives. They told us how they have received so many letters from fans with stories that made them smile. I think that hearing life changing stories from their fans is what helped keep some of the momentum going over the years.
Watch and or listen to the video below of our Q&A with Phineas and Ferb Creators and Executive Producers Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh. Be sure to have a tissue handy:
After the Q&A with these two amazing men the afternoon got better. While walking outside for a summer picnic I was able to tell Jeff Swampy Marsh the question that my son had wanted me to ask. I also told Jeff how the last time I was at Walt Disney Studios I brought home the biggest Perry stuffed animal I could find in the gift shop. I also told him how the big Perry rode home on the plane with me and how everyone I passed down the aisle was smiling when they seen him. He then told me about his Phineas and Ferb surfboard that gets lots of attention when he goes to the beach.
Our summer picnic included some awesome food, spending time with Phineas, Ferb, Dan and Jeff and also time for some fun photo opportunities. Disney had their photographer take a group photo and individual photos but I couldn’t help but get a few selfies in too!

I love taking selfies so I made sure to take one with Phineas and Ferb. I couldn’t get their whole heads in the picture but it was fun trying.
Next I took a selfie with Jeff “Swampy” Marsh. I just love his personality and he had fun making a silly selfie face for me to show my kids.
The day wouldn’t be complete without a selfie with Dan Povenmire. I will tell you that ever time I hear Doofenshmirtz on Phineas and Ferb this selfie will come to mind.
And I just LOVE this photo that the Disney photographer took of me and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh taking that selfie.

For those of you Phineas and Ferb Fans, you won’t want to miss out on the final episode. This is a one-hour episode where summer vacation is almost coming to and end and Candace wants to find a way to BUST her brothers. She finds out that Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s Do-Over-Inator machine has a button to re-do a day which she pushes causing the day to repeat itself over. You and your kids will find yourself laughing over and over as Candace has to repeat herself doing things like tripping on skates and falling down the stair. Those are all the spoilers that I am going to give because I want to encourage everyone to watch the final episode.
The Phineas and Ferb one-hour special “The Last Day Of Summer” will premiere tomorrow June 12, 2015 at 9:00PM-10:00PM ET on Disney XD.
