Social media is something that is constantly changing with new apps and websites coming out before we can figure out how to master the others. While there are millions on Facebook connecting with their family and friends, the app Periscope is something that has been taking over the internet letting the world go live via their mobile device anytime and anywhere.
How To Add Vine Videos To Pinterest
Pinterest can be a great source of traffic to your website or blog. One of my top referrers each month happens to be Pinterest so I continue to look for ways to make it grow. For those of you that are using Vine, did you know that you can add your videos on Vine to your Pinterest boards? It is actually quite simple to do and can create even more subscribers to your Vine account and more loops to your videos.
Okay, so here is how to add Vine videos to Pinterest.
First find the video on Vine that you want to pin and click the Share link. Once you see the share options, select the Twitter icon.
Once you click the Twitter icon a popup will appear that includes a unique and shareable url of the video that you want to share.
In that popup you will want to copy (ctrl-c) the link to your Vine video. The link should look something like this: https://vine.co/v/M9z6YvOJMZE. Play the video and then take a screenshot so that you can use the screenshot as your image on Pinterest. You can use the print screen option from your keyboard or you can use a free tool like Snipping Tool to get an image from your screen.
Make sure you get a good screenshot image that people will want to re-pin.
Once you have a good image, you will want to head over to Pinterest. Click the + icon and then select Upload a Pin.
Select the image that you took a screenshot of and then select the board you want your video under. Hit the button to Pin your image, then go back and edit your pin with the link to your Vine video.
Once you hit Save Changes your Vine video is now on Pinterest!
Pretty Business Cards From Oubly
This is a partnered post with Oubly. Product or compensation has been received and all thoughts are my own.
Last month was the Blogher conference and up until a couple weeks before I left to San Jose I did not have but a couple business cards left. I knew I needed to order cards but didn’t want to find a new company to use. I wanted a new design and I don’t even remember the name of the company I had last ordered from. It had been that long.
So while on Facebook I seen on one of my friends post her business cards she received from Oubly. Once I seen them I knew that those where the kind of cards I wanted to order. See I wanted to have nice cards printed. I wanted to have cards that would leave an impression. At Blogher you give out cards to brands you want to work with so I wanted to go with something better than just regular business cards.
So Oubly has some really cute designs but I wanted to use a design I came up with on my own. Once I had my business card template uploaded I chose to go with the Premium Edge Painted Business Cards. Now my last cards where regular business cards that were glossy.
What I like about these cards is I was able to print on the front and the back. All of my previous business cards have been one sided only.
I now have some nice premium business cards that are glossy, THICK and look pretty cool from all angles!
I chose silver for the side color of my cards but there are other colors that you can choose from to match with your cards. I was tempted to go with pink but I wanted to make sure it matched. I could have also went with black which would have looked good too!
In my shipment I also received a couple business card holders. When I seen these they made me smile. Normally my cards have just came in a regular white box that falls apart. I was happy that I would have something cool to bring my business cards in.
I am in love with these cards and will definitely be re-ordering some when I run out. Here are some of the features of these fancy premium business cards from Oubly.
- 36 point thick
- Eco-friendly deluxe paper
- Nine edge coloring options
- Affordable pricing & luxury packaging
When I was in the process of ordering the cards there were issues of coloring on the back of my cards. I was impressed when the Oubly was able to fix and make changes to my design to make sure it printed perfect. Oubly not only has these fancy business cards, they also print stationary, photo cards, invites and more!
If you are a blogger Oubly offers Blogger Perks. You can submit a request and receive 50% off your an order of the Premium Edge cards like I received.
Ten Ways to Earn Money With Your Digital Camera
Are you like me and like to take hundreds if not thousands of photos? If you like to snap pictures and are sure you can take good pictures, start making that camera earn an extra income for you.
The world of photography has changed since the instant camera was developed. With a digital camera, you can take a not so good shot and make it perfect using a variety of software options. Best of all, pictures can be printed on quality paper on your printer or at a store kiosk for just a few cents per picture. Technology has created memory cards much like the flash drive storage medium to file and save pictures for sharing on the Internet. You can easily upload pictures from the memory card to your friends, family and a blog or website if you have one.
Below are ten different ways that you can earn money with your digital camera:
- Stock photography. This business is growing. For website newsletters, magazines and articles, publishers look for photos that capture the essence of their articles. It is not terribly convenient to go out and snap some pictures every time you need one. Selling stock photographs to businesses and individuals is convenient for them and lucrative for you.
- Wedding photographer. Okay so if you aren’t a professional you won’t be the main photographer at first but you can be hired to take candid shots at the reception or wedding photos after the ceremony. The happy couple can order as many pictures as they want and you can create wedding CDs of the pictures you took.
- Newspaper pics. If you are in the right place at the right time, you might capture photos that are worthy of the newspaper. When news happens, a newspaper photographer might not be on the scene. You can capture the moments and sell them to newspapers. Snapping shots at community events may also earn you some money from local newspapers.
- Magazine photographer. Create a portfolio of photos that you’ve taken and submit them to magazines. Looking at your work, they may hire you for assignments. Magazines are a tough market to break into so cut your teeth on other smaller assignments for local newspapers.
- Local photography business. Ever gotten a mailing that shows cars for sale or houses for sale? Someone had to take those photographs. It could be you. Hire yourself out to area businesses to do the photographs for them.
- Event photographer. Some families like to document their events like family reunions, christenings, bar mitzvahs and birthday parties. You can be the eyes in the room catching candid shots of everyone.
- Senior portraits – Every senior in high school usually has senior portraits done at on outside company. Offer your services to your local high schools at a good rate.
- Photography website. If you know a lot about digital cameras and photography, create a website to sell photography products. Keep visitors and customers coming back with engaging content on various aspects of photography.
- Teach a photography class. Those cameras look easy to use but some of those symbols can mix people up. Teach others to use their digital camera and create great pictures that they, too, can market as a business.
- Food photographer – If you like to take pictures and style food, you can make some good money as a food photographer for grocery stores, website owners, etc.
Do you like photography too? Share your ways that you can make money with your camera.

Unless you are willing to put the time in and treat it seriously, you won’t be blogging long.
That is not to say that the failed bloggers weren’t serious about blogging. Mostly, new bloggers aren’t prepared for the work that goes into creating a successful blog. Just building the blog doesn’t mean that people will necessary come to you. You pursue the audience and give them a reason to see what you have to say.
Here are ten ideas to bring traffic to your blog:
- Fresh Content – no one wants to visit a blog day after day and see the same posts. Update your blog content at least twice a week. This will be easier if you write several posts ahead of time and upload them at the appropriate times. If you want even more traffic, try posting daily at least a couple times each day. Some bloggers hire other bloggers to write on their blog to produce even more content for the world to view.

- Submit Blog to Search Engines – doing this allows your blog to be ranked. Google and Yahoo! are two of the most popular search engines you want to crawl your blog pages. It doesn’t guarantee top ranking, though. You’ll have to do a little more work for that.

Become a member of business forums, work at home forums and others to meet new people and share ideas. You can add a link to your blog in the signature line so others can find you.
- Visit other blogs – show your appreciation to those who visit you by also posting comments on their blogs. It is a kindness that shows others you are not just out to advertise your blog alone. Add links to your blog in your comments.

If you want a better chance at being ranked in Google, be sure to setup a Google + page for your blog and suggest others share and +1 your content. If you have good images, encourage your readers to PIN your content by using Pinterest widgets in your posts.
Using any of these ideas will start the traffic moving in your direction. It takes time but you will build the readership you want.
