Summer Lawn Care Tips From TruGreen

I live in the suburbs and I happened to be the first house on my street. When it comes to our grass and our curb appeal, my husband is on top of it. It is very important to him to try his best to make our lawn the best on the street. In order to have a nice lawn that looks appealing you have to give it the proper lawn care. My husband is constantly watering the lawn, mowing the lawn, edging the lawn and doing whatever other magic he does to make my lawn and rose bushes look pretty!

For those of you that got a lawn that needs some love, I want to share this neat infographic from TruGreen.

I have a confession…. I have only mowed our lawn once. I attempted to mow our lawn when we first bought our house and broke the lawnmower. After that incident, this was no longer a chore I was going to signup for. I enjoy watering the lawn, especially on cool summer nights but I don’t deal with the lawn mower.

Kohl’s For Your Back To School Needs

This month I made a trip to Kohl’s to get some clothes for Hannah for school. In the past I have always been happy with Kohl’s as they always have CUTE stuff whenever I go. They also have great sales and I love that you can earn Kohl’s Cash on your purchases so that you have even more money to spend on your next shopping trip.

This year instead of taking all the kids shopping together, we did shopping for each of the kid’s individually. My oldest two can be picky and like to shop at the mall. Sometimes it is just best to give them money and let them go shopping. As for my two youngest, I can shop at the more affordable stores and I can pick and choose what they are going to wear. I had received a gift card to Kohl’s, so I knew that I could find some really cute clothes at great prices for Hannah.

Just as I thought, we found a TON of clothes on sale and on clearance. Since I am a bargain shopper, I always hit these items first!

As we went through the clothes in the Girls department, Hannah was having fun picking out cute tops and bottoms that she thought would look good.

Even though we did spend most of our time looking for clothes at Hannah, I wouldn’t have been happy not taking a peek at the stuff on sale throughout the rest of the store. For those still needing to go shopping for your kids that are going back to school, Kohl’s not only has cute clothes, they have a variety of backpacks, lunch pails, jewelry and more. For those of you with teens, they carry cosmetics and fragrance too!

So at the end of our shopping trip, I spent a little over $100 for 6 outfits. I also received $20 in Kohl’s Cash that we have already went back to the store and used it for even more back to school finds.

Ten Uses For Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar + Texas Barbecue Sauce Recipe #HeinzVinegar

Ever since I was a little girl, I have seen and used the vinegar products from Heinz. My first memories would have to be making Easter egg dye with food coloring and the Heinz Distilled White Vinegar with my Nana each year when I was little. Over the years I have found that the Heinz Vinegar products have so many different uses. Not only do I keep a bottle of the white distilled vinegar in my pantry, I also keep a bottle of the Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar as a staple in my kitchen too!

Not many are familiar with just how handy vinegar and especially the apple cider vinegar can be. Below are different ways I found that apple cider can be used. These are just some ideas and there are a TON more uses for this stuff!

For Your Hair – You can use apple cider vinegar as a rinse for your hair after you shampoo it.
To Relieve Nausea – Mix 1 cup of water, 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar and honey to taste.
Helps With Allergies – You can drink to help with relief but there are pill supplements now available.
For Your Teeth – Rub the apple cider vinegar directly on your teeth to help remove stains.
For Your Face – It can be used to help regulate the pH of your skin.
Soothes Bug Bites – For those with itchy bug bites, this can used for relief.
As A Cleaner – Mix a solution of 1 part apple cider vinegar to 1 part water and mix in a spray bottle.
On Your Toes – Helps to get rid of fingernail or toenail fungus.
Repel Fleas – Used to make a wash to help repel fleas off your pet.
Use in marinades, dressings & sauces – A great staple for those who love to cook!

For me, I mainly use the Heinz Apple Cider in my kitchen. Since I love to cook, I use it in different dishes that I use, especially pasta salads. Since I don’t use any harmful chemicals in my house to clean, I like to use the apple cider vinegar and mix it with water to make my own cleaner to clean the kitchen with.

Heinz® Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar is vinegar in its most natural and wholesome form. The product retains the “mother” of the vinegar – a compound created naturally during vinegar’s fermentation process. It is used in cooking to bring out refreshing flavors, and has a variety of other unique uses.

Another favorite way I am now using the Heinz Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar is in a BBQ sauce recipe I found on their website. I know many of you like to use the grill during the summer and even in the winter, so I thought I would share their recipe in case you want to try some yummy BBQ sauce too!

Texas Barbecue Sauce Recipe

Recipe Type: Marinade, Sauce

Ingredients

1/4 cup Heinz® Apple Cider Vinegar
1/3 cup Lea & Perrins® The Original Worcestershire Sauce
3/4 cup Heinz® Tomato Ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Back To School Shopping With Kohl’s

A few years ago when the Kohl’s near me opened, I was excited. At that time I had only been to Kohl’s once at a store about 20 minutes away. I loved what Kohl’s had to offer and had wished that there was a location closer. Once they finally opened a store near me, I have been shopping there ever since.

When it comes to shopping for clothes, Kohl’s is one of my FAVORITE places to shop for clothes. It may not necessarily be the cheapest place that I could shop, but it is the one place that I can find clothes for me that I like, clothes for the kids as well as a variety of other things I like to shop for. In addition to clothes, you can find cool things for your kitchen like K-Cups for the Keurig, cake pop makers or even shop for items for your bathroom and bedroom.

One thing that I look forward to each week is the Kohl’s Cares items at the register for only $5 each. You can currently get a cute Curious George stuffed animal for $5 or the book. For those of you that have Curious George fans on your shopping list only $10 would get you two great gifts. It is neat to know that 100% of the profit of these items go to help children in need.

This week I will be taking the kids shopping at our Kohl’s to get some clothes for the upcoming school year. My youngest son will be starting kindergarten this year and I am hoping to find some cute outfits to start school with. I will be sharing my finds next week.
