One of my favorite appetizers would have to be spinach dip! I normally use spinach and artichoke hearts when making my dip but I decided to change it just a little and add some Paisley Farm Dilled Brussel Sprouts for a recipe contest I am participating that gives my dip a yummy and unique flavor. Pizza is one of my most favorite foods. I can eat it for breakfast, lunch or dinner and it can be the perfect snack too! Pizza is  also a food that everyone in my family will usually agree on! One of my favorite things to make with wonton wrappers is dessert! I recently used the Twin Dragon Asian Won Ton Wrappers to make Fried Cherry Cheesecake Wontons that are so yummy! These are easy to make and you can even get creative with them by adding powdered sugar or maybe drizzle some caramel. Next time I may try them with maybe apples or even peaches.

Fried Cherry Cheesecake Wontons

Ingredients

• 30 Twin Dragon Won Ton Wrappers
• 8 ounces cream cheese room temperature
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
• 1 tablespoon sour cream
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 can cherry pie filling
• 1/2 cup water

Instructions

1. In a large mixing bowl beat the cream cheese, sugar and flour until smooth. Then add 1 egg,  sour cream, and vanilla until continue to mix until blended. 

2. Create an egg wash. In a small bowl add 1 egg and the 1/2 cup up water and mix until blended. 

3. On a clean and flat surface place 1 won ton wrapper. Dip your finger in egg wash and paint all for of the edges. Add 2 teaspoons of the cheesecake mixture on the center of the wrapper. Add about 1 teaspoon of the cherry pie filling on top.  Bring the corners of the wrappers together to the center and pinch together to form an  X. Pinch all of the edges to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers.

4. Add 1 to 1 1/2 inches of vegetable oil to a large skillet and heat oil to medium high. Add about 4-5 wontons at a time to the oil and fry, turning each of them occasionally until they are golden brown. Remove from oil once golden on a plate lined with a paper towel or napkins to absorb excess oil. 

5. Allow to cool and enjoy!

Halloween is upon us, and it’s time for the best part of the holiday; the parties. Leave the kids at home, get your costume, and get ready to party with your friends. But wait, did you forget to have your drinks ready? Not to worry. This list of dry ice cocktails will sure to add a little Halloween spirit to your event.

A quick word of warning before the recipes, however: make sure you purchase some straws for these drinks. Dry ice is extremely cold, as low as -109 degrees Fahrenheit, so it can be dangerous if touched directly or accidentally drank. Remember to drink responsibly!

• The Poison Apple: Apples and tequila make for a delicious poison for your party. Combine two ounces of apple cider, one ounce of pomegranate juice, and two ounces of tequila in a cocktail shaker with some dry ice. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass, and add a few extra small chips of dry ice before serving.
• The Witch’s Heart: This one’s sure to cast a spell on your party guests. Put your dry ice chips into the bottom of a martini glass. Combine 1.5 ounces of apple vodka and three ounces of Viniq or another shimmery purple liqueur into a cocktail shaker with ice and strain into the glass. Carefully pour about a teaspoon of grenadine syrup on top so that it drips to the bottom of the glass for that “bleeding” look. Serve with a stirrer to show off that shimmer.
• The Bloody Vampire: A drink fit for vampires, or any other Halloween party guests. In a glass, combine two ounces of vodka and two ounces of cranberry juice with a splash of ginger ale. Garnish with a maraschino cherry, and then for a fun show, drop in a dry ice cube and watch it smoke.
