Last year while taking classes at my local community college I signed up for one of their culinary classes. I have always wanted to learn how to make breads and fancy pastries so I signed up for the Pastry & Breads class. As a student I was required to have certain kitchen tools & supplies. One of the things that I had to have was a food thermometer.
I will admit that I have had an OLD food thermometer in my drawer in my kitchen for years but I had never used one. I always thought that I would save it for the day when I would need it.Well that day came when I learned how to make homemade bread. When making bread, you have to check the internal temperature to make sure it is done. A fully baked loaf of bread that is DONE will have a temperature of about 200F and you can’t check the temperature without a food thermometer.

What I like about this thermometer is its ability to read the temperature fast. I also like that when you fold it to close it, it automatically shuts off for you so that you don’t waste battery life.
With this thermometer I also like being able to “freeze” the temperature. With my old thermometer I used in class I would have to read the temperature while it was still in the hot bread. With this feature you can push a button to save your temperature, pull it out and then read it making it much easier!

In just two days my kids will be starting the new school year. I know it is strange to start the school week on a Thursday but it does give my kids a little break after their first two important days of school. Last month was the Blogher conference and up until a couple weeks before I left to San Jose I did not have but a couple business cards left. I knew I needed to order cards but didn’t want to find a new company to use. I wanted a new design and I don’t even remember the name of the company I had last ordered from. It had been that long.
So while on Facebook I seen on one of my friends post her business cards she received from Oubly. Once I seen them I knew that those where the kind of cards I wanted to order. See I wanted to have nice cards printed. I wanted to have cards that would leave an impression. So Oubly has some really cute designs but I wanted to use a design I came up with on my own. Once I had my business card template uploaded I chose to go with the Premium Edge Painted Business Cards. Now my last cards where regular business cards that were glossy.
What I like about these cards is I was able to print on the front and the back. All of my previous business cards have been one sided only.
I now have some nice premium business cards that are glossy, THICK and look pretty cool from all angles!
I chose silver for the side color of my cards but there are other colors that you can choose from to match with your cards. I was tempted to go with pink but I wanted to make sure it matched. I could have also went with black which would have looked good too!
In my shipment I also received a couple business card holders. When I seen these they made me smile. Normally my cards have just came in a regular white box that falls apart. I was happy that I would have something cool to bring my business cards in.

I have been a fan of the Keurig brewer for at least a few years now. My Keurig is the one appliance in the kitchen that probably gets used at least once every day. I like to keep stock of my K-Cup Coffee Pods too! I like to make coffee, hot chocolate and even iced tea but sometimes I run out of room to keep my variety of these little things.
I now have a couple cool products from Mind Reader that helps me to store some of my many coffee pods. I have the Mind Reader “Vesta” Coffee Condiment and Accessories Holder. This is a little single drawer system that holds up to 18 coffee pods as well as other condiments for my beverages like sugar packets or creamer.
I also have the Mind Reader “Mounty” Coffee Pod Refrigerator/Wall Dispenser. This mounts to any refrigerator or wall and holds 20 K-cup single serve coffee pods. It has both magnets and a sticker strip on the back to mount it. I did learn that I need to use the sticker strip to keep this on the fridge if I plan on filling it up with my pods.
For those that like to leave notes, the cork top allows you to post little notes or messages in addition to holding your favorite pods. I like to leave little notes for the kids and the hubby so this is going to come in handy! Everyone is always in the fridge so they are bound to see a note if I post one here.
