Captain America: The Winter Soldier Film Review & Cast Lineup

The wait is finally over for all of you Captain America fans. Captain America – The Winter Soldier is in theaters today! Not to brag but I was lucky and got to see a screening of it last month in Los Angeles. I will be going again this weekend with the family, it was that good!

The synopsis – After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

My Captain America – The Winter Soldier Film Review…..

This new movie, the second movie in the Captain America movie franchise is based on Marvel’s comic book series that was first published in 1941. This new movie has not only an excellent story line, it has amazing cast too!

When I got invited to see a screening of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, I honestly had to re-watch the first Captain America movie two times. I enjoyed comics as a kid and had a small collection, but never owned any of the Captain America comics. I wish I would have though because those comics are worth a good little fortune now.

After watching Captain America: The First Avenger a couple times I was prepared. I was ready to see what action was in store for Steve Rogers. As soon as the movie started the action never stopped, even after the credits started. On the way to the theater I was a little tired and was hoping a soda would give me a little energy boost. I didn’t even drink my soda or eat my popcorn, my eyes were glued to the screen. I honestly think this is probably one of the BEST Marvel movies that I have seen yet. Not only am I awaiting what is in store next, I now am really interested in following the stories through the comics.

Like I mentioned previously, this movie has an amazing cast. Here are some of the other celebrities that you will see in The Winter Soldier:

Samuel L. Jackson – plays Nicky Fury, the legendary director of the international peacekeeping organization, S.H.I.E.L.D.
Robert Redford – plays a high-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D agent and personal friend of Nick Fury.
Emily VanCamp – plays Agent 13, a young and attractive S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.
Cobie Smulders – plays a loyal agent to S.H.I.E.L.D. and Nick Fury.

Even if you are not a superhero fan you will want to see this movie for all of the action and stunts performed. These cast went through some extensive training to put this marvelous movie out. On our interview last month, Anthony Mackie “The Falcon” mentioned a 60 foot jump he was asked to do on the first day on the set.

The Sprint Framily Plan Explained

For almost the last 4 years I have been paying a fortune on my cell phone bill. I pay around $100/month. If you think about it, $1200/year times 4 years is almost $5,000 just to talk and use my smartphone. While I love my phone I have been looking for cheaper options that what my current provider offers. With that said I have been very interested in the Sprint Framily Plan and have been doing a little research.

Here is how it all works…

When you join Sprint as a new customer you will pay $55 per month for 1 line that has unlimited talk, text and 1 GB of data transfer while on the Sprint network.
When you add another line, the rate will decrease by $5.
Then when you add another line, it will decrease by another $5.
What is neat about this is the fact that you can keep decreasing the bill up to 10 lines. They don’t have to be your husband, wife or kids either. You can add up to 10 friends, family, neighbors, employees.

With Sprint you don’t have to be family to be Framily!

Since I have four people in my family out of six that use a cell phone, switching to Sprint and paying only $40 per month for 4 lines might be the smarter thing to do. If all six of us were using phones, I would only have to pay $30 per line for a whopping $180 per month. That is only about $80 more a month than I pay now for 5 extra lines.

What I like most about Sprint is this…

No Separate bills, no annual service contracts, no early termination fees!

I have been on a contract now for almost 4 years. When my current contract expires, I don’t want a new one. What I also like about Sprint is that they offer payment plans for new devices (upon credit approval). I have always paid upfront in full for all of my cell phones which is great for me but not everyone has the extra cash to pay upfront for the fancy smartphone they want.

The Little Rascals Save The Day Review + Recipes & Giveaway

I have been a fan of The Little Rascals since I was a little kid, I remember The Little Rascals in the day of black and white films. In 1994 came the movie The Little Rascals where the boys catch Alfalfa in the company of the cutest little girl in town Darla in which they do their best to break them apart. Now The Little Rascals are back in a new film that will definitely have you smiling.

Synopsis: In the spirit of the treasured Our Gang comedies, The Little Rascals Save the Day finds the most entertaining bunch of third graders in town hatching a series of madcap schemes to earn enough money to keep Grandma’s (Doris Roberts of “Everybody Loves Raymond”) bakery out of the clutches of conniving businessman Big Ray (Greg Germann of Here Comes the Boom). From caddying to pet care to taxi service, each of their plans goes hilariously awry until they are left with just two options: find a way to win the local talent show or wave goodbye to the best cupcakes a kid ever tasted!

I really enjoyed this new film! We have actually watched it twice this weekend. There is just something about the characters that just get you hooked. Even though my favorite characters are usually Alfafa and Darla, this movie I am enjoying Doris Robert’s part of the grandma with the bakery that loves all her grandchildren no matter what mischief they cause like in this funny clip….

Modere Review – Inspired, Everyday Products

For over the last decade I have been picky about the products that I buy and use in my home. What I mean by this is I don’t use smelly chemicals to clean my kitchen and bathroom unless necessary. I also am picky when it comes to soaps and shampoos that I buy that we use on our skin and hair. I prefer to use safe and non-toxic products in my home, what about you?

I recently made my first order on the Modere. This is a website that is catered specifically to the modern lifestyle. They offer products for personal care, health & wellness, household care, collections and more.

I wanted to try out a few of their products so I ordered their Multi-Purpose Cleaning Wipes, Laundry Pods, Liquid Hand Soap and Shampoo. Now that Spring Cleaning time is in effect, I thought the wipes would come in handy for the kids to help me do a little cleaning around the house.

I was excited when I found a little red box in my shipment with a free surprise for me! Inside was a couple of the laundry pods to try. I already bought a container but these extra two will help clean a couple loads of laundry.

The first thing I tried from this order was the liquid hand soap. I have trained my children to always wash their hands so we go through quite a bit of hand soap this month. The Modere Liquid Hand Soap is fragrance-free and also contains NO dyes, NO parabens, No phthalates and NO sulfates. The first thing I had to do is smell it, to see if it was actually fragrance free.

I have been using the shampoo for a couple days now and LOVE it. I actually am hiding this one in my room so that only I get to use it. I have two teens that go through the shampoo so when I find something I like, I have to keep it to myself or it will go FAST. With the Modere Shampoo I LOVE the scent. It has a fresh and clean scent. I almost want to use it for body wash too!

In my order was also the Multi-Purpose Cleaning Wipes. With these, I liike the scent as well. I normally buy baby wipes so I get wipes that smell pleasant since my children are the ones who mainly use them for cleanup. The Modere wipes have a clean scent that isn’t too strong.

I also have the laundry pods in my shipment but I haven’t got a chance to use them yet. These sound neat because they have three products in one including naturally-derived ingredients for clean clothes, stain boosters, and a light scent of vanilla and lavender. I look forward to seeing if my laundry comes out smelling like vanilla and lavender.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Review

For the last few years I have been a big fan of the iPhone. I first started with the iPhone 3GS and then upgraded to the iPhone 4S and I thought I was happy with it. For the last month though, I have been using and playing around with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini with the Sprint network. I think this phone might have WON my love over the iPhone.

Here is my Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and my iPhone 4S side by side. As you can see, they are almost the same size with the Samsung being just a tad taller.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini vs the iPhone 4S

So until I used the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, I thought the iPhone was all I needed. I had all my apps like Instagram, Facebook, Pandora, Twitter all within hands reach. I even had all my music and I could use it like an iPod. After using my Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, my iPhone seems a little boring. The S4 Mini seems like a little computer to me and the size is perfect since its almost the same size as my iPhone.

One thing I have enjoyed with the S4 Mini is the Samsung Hub and Entertainment Universe. You can’t get bored if you have access to this!

Once you sign into the Samsung Hub you then have access to shop for TV shows, movies, games, music, books and more to your phone. What I like about the hub is that it integrates your storefront and media player so you do NOT have to leave the app to view the content you purchase which makes using it easier.

I like to read so I am liking the Samsung Hub Book app. You can access your e-books from different Samsung devices. The content you purchase belongs to the user and not just the device. You are able to re-download the same purchased content as many times as you wish for up to 5 Samsung devices.

I LOVE music so having access to new music as well as old music is a must. With the Samsung Music Hub you get access to a global catalog of over 14 million songs. I think that iTunes may have access to more music, I think last year they were at 25 billion but for me, I mostly listen to songs I am easily going to find on either device so I don’t need that big of a library to look from.

What is neat about using the Samsung and listening to music is that the phone listens to what you play and then suggest similar artists and songs for you. As you continue to listen to your favorite songs, your recommendations will become more refined. I think this is also a great way to find new music that you haven’t discovered yet.

Here are some other features I like about the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini from Sprint over the iPhone 4S:

Larger screen (4.3 vs 3.5)
More ram (1.5gb vs .5gb)
Faster clock speed (1.7GH vs .8GHz)
Super AMOLED technology

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini vs the Samsung Galaxy S4

There are many of you that have or want the Samsung Galaxy S4. You might be wondering what the difference is between these two phones. From what I can see, the Galaxy S4 Mini is a smaller version of the Galaxy S4. Not only is it smaller it is also comes with a smaller price tag. I think for those used to the iPhone like me, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini might be your way to go over the larger phone. That is unless you are looking for a fancier and bigger phone.

Here is the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini next to a regular Samsung Galaxy S4. You can definitely see the size difference.

When it comes to sizes, the Samsung Galaxy S4 has a 5-inch screen in a 136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9mm chassis. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini has a 4.3 inch screen in a 124.6 x 6.3 x 8.9mm chassis. The Samsung S4 weighs 130g whereas the S4 Mini only weighs 107g.

While many people like the bigger fancy cell phones, I prefer to have a smaller hand sized phone. I am always using my phone and the smaller sized phones have always worked best for me. They seem to fit in my purse better and are easier for me to take #selfie pictures with. 🙂
