Getting To Know My NEW Epson Stylus Photo R2000 Printer (Review)
I received the Epson R2000 to provide you with this review. This post is not a paid post and all opinions are my own.
I have been the “camera lady” for as long as I can remember. I have had an interest in photography since I was a child. I think my first camera was one of the 110 cameras but I loved taking pictures with a Polaroid. If I wasn’t taking pictures with my own camera I was taking them for my mom or grandma.
One thing about taking pictures back in the day was having to pay to have the film developed. Once the digital cameras came into play, I kind of lost interest in paying to have pictures printed. I figured I could just print them from home on a printer. I have printed pictures, but they didn’t look like a professional print. I have longed for a printer that would print pictures that I could put in a frame and hang on the wall.
And then I received an Epson Stylus Photo R2000 Printer to review. I will be honest. I let it sit in my room for a couple weeks before I opened it. I was so excited about getting the printer that I wanted everything to go perfect when setting it up. I wanted to find the perfect place to place it and I wanted some time when the kids were not home to put it together.
Once I started to put the printer together, I realized it was easier than I thought. I normally hate putting together things that require me to read directions but the instructions for this printer weren’t too bad. After I plugged in the printer, I had to install 8 ink cartridges. I was a little shocked that I had all 8 installed in less than a couple minutes!
After the ink was installed, I installed the software on my printer, loaded a piece of Epson Ultra Premium Glossy Photo Paper and was ready to print a photo. I found a portrait I took with my Nikon D5100 and hit the print button. When it started printing I was so excited.
I was even more excited when it finished printing. I was really thrilled with the quality of the photo it printed that I printed another photo I took of all of my kids on the first day of school. I then had to take a picture of one of my friend’s daughter and print it out to show off what my new printer could do.

The reason I am really excited about this printer is that I took a digital photography class for the last few months and I had to pay to have each of my photo assignments printed. Printing one print may not sound expensive but I had to turn in print assignments every other week and a portfolio at the end of the semester. I used the photo center at Walgreens and was always happy with the quality of the prints I received. I am excited now to have a printer that prints just as good as the professional photo center.
Right now I have only printed 8×10 photos on the glossy paper. I will keep you posted on what else this fun Epson photo printer can do. 🙂
Dinosaur Train’s Nature Trackers Adventure Camp Show (Jan 20) + Book Review & Giveaway
My little guy loves the show Dinosaur Train. Tomorrow, January 20 PBS KIDS premieres “Nature Trackers Adventure Camp,” an all-new, one-hour special from The Jim Henson Company’s hit series Dinosaur Train. Kids can follow Buddy, Shiny, Tiny and Don in four brand-new, exciting stories as they travel to different ecosystems and learn about erosion, tree lines, rainforests and canyons.
This special Dinosaur Train show premieres Monday, January 20 at 9am and 2:30pm ET/PT. Watch out for repeats on Saturday, January 25 8:30am ET/PT; and Sunday, January 26, 8:00am ET/PT! (Check your local listings)
We received the Dinosaur Train Buddy and the Nature Trackers book to review. This book has over 45 FUN FLAPS that you can LIFT. When I showed my son the book, he instantly wanted to browse through the book and look under all the flaps.
The Nature Trackers are always on the lookout for interesting things to discover all around them. Kids will love tagging along for adventures as Buddy, Tiny, Don, and Shiny check out a cave filled with colorful gems, watch baby dinosaurs hatch from eggs, and more. Fun learning activities throughout reinforce early learning concepts like colors, action words, counting, matching, and opposites.
Since one of my son’s homework assignments each night is reading a book, this will come in handy. He has already asked me to read it for him a couple of times. I used to love books with flaps when I was little too. 🙂

Gold Emblem Cookies & Coffee At CVS
There are days when I like to bake and then there are days when I prefer to be lazy and grab something out of a box. This last month I was a little under the weather during the holidays. Instead of baking a batch of cookies to leave out for Santa, we left him some yummy Gold Emblem cookies that you can purchase at CVS.
Yes, we cheated and didn’t make any cookies for Santa but that is okay. I think he was okay with what the kids left for him to snack on.
We received the following Gold Emblem products to try:
- Gold Emblem Brownie Cookies
- Gold Emblem Maple Leaf Brownie Cookies
- Gold Emblem Select Vanilla Coffee Cookies
- Gold Emblem Coffee
The kids left Santa a cup of coffee instead of milk along with a plate of cookies. Santa ate all of the Brownie Cookies that we left out. We knew those must have been good and we finished the box in no time. The other two cookies are good too but the brownies were my favorite.
Now the coffee, my husband LOVES it! He thinks it is his special coffee. I just smile!
Do you have any product from CVS that you buy on a regular basis?
Why I Think The Dollar Tree Is Handy
“This is a sponsored post with the Dollar Tree All opinions are my own.”
The day I walked into the Dollar Tree down the street I was in heaven. I am one of those moms that uses coupons and buys things on sale. I had been to stores where everything was a dollar or less, but not right down the street from my house. I now had somewhere I could buy toilet paper, dish soap, paper towels and other handy items for only a buck.
I am lucky and my Dollar Tree is under a mile away. I could walk there if I wanted, but I normally can’t go into the store and buy just one or two things. One thing I do wish though was that my store was bigger. A bigger Dollar Tree just means more stuff for me to buy.
For those that are trying to be more organized this year, the Dollar Tree has lots of bright storage containers to get you started. I actually have to stay away from this isle. I LOVE baskets and buckets to put all my goodies in…
In addition to the toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap and these pretty colorful storage containers, the Dollar Tree has a TON more products.
You will also find office supplies, party favors, cleaning tools, craft supplies, school supplies, tools, health and beauty products, animal stuff and more.
Here are the reasons why I think the Dollar Tree is a very handy type of store:
- This store comes in handy for birthday parties because they have lots of supplies.
- This store comes in handy on Valentines Day to stock on on candy for your kids Valentines.
- Of course it comes in handy on Halloween, again stock on on the candy.
- This store comes in handy during Christmas to find the best stocking stuffers from toys, socks, hair brushes, candy, toothbrushes, etc.
- This store comes in handy when you need to send a greeting, because if I am not correct, a greeting card is only half of a dollar!
There are just my reasons, what are yours?
