The last few months I have been contemplating on whether or not my children should be receiving an allowance for doing their chores. While we do give our children money when they need it, there has never been an allowance system enforced in my house.
We have rewarded our children in the past by buying them something they have been wanting, taking them out to lunch or dinner, letting them stay up late and other fun rewards. One thing that there isn’t, is a dollar amount set on the chores our children do each week. For some families, they pay their children weekly, bi-weekly or maybe even monthly for their chores. For our family, we haven’t yet put together an allowance system. …
