When it comes to cooking, fish is something I don’t cook often at my house (if at all). My kids for some reason have this idea that they don’t like fish, when they have not even really had the chance to try it. My husband is opposed to eating fish too, which makes me wonder where they really get it from, but he is getting better. My daughters automatically turn up their nose when they hear anything related to eating fish. When we take trips to San Francisco, it is my only time to get to enjoy fresh seafood. This year, I have got my husband to eat clam chowder bowls at a fancy restaurant in San Francisco, twice (score!)….
One fish related food that does get baked and consumed in my house a few times a year is fish sticks. I am not sure if baking frozen fish sticks even counts as eating seafood, but its a start. Luckily my husband does like fish sticks and he is usually the one who will put them in the oven and the kids will not complain if dad is cooking. What my kids are missing though, is the benefits that you can get from eating fish. This is where the NutraSea Kids from Ascenta comes into play……
Did you know that research has shown that essential fatty acids (EFAs) can play an important role in your child’s development. I know my kids are not going to want to eat fish 2-3 times a week, so I often have thought of finding some sort of supplement for them so they don’t miss out on all the benefits. When I was recently contacted by Mom Central to try out the NutraSea Kids by Ascenta I excited to say yes please.
The NutraSea Kids is a liquid supplement made especially for children 2-13 years of age that has a Very Berry taste. It also passes the Ascenta Pure Check Program that guarantees that their products are independently tested and certified for quality, purity and label claims. Since this is in liquid form, you don’t have to worry about your child trying to swallow a soft gel pill or capsule. I have tried giving my children vitamins in the past with not much luck. Even my daughter who is 13 prefers “liquid” instead of swallowing a pill (silly girl). With is supplement, you can give it to your child by itself or add it to something like a smoothie, yogurt, slushie, etc. Only one teaspoon a day of the NutraSea Kids will provide your children with the omega-3 and vitamin D they need for their development. Hurray, I have found a way and my kids don’t even know it (wink wink).
The NutraSea Kids can be purchased at Vitamin Shoppe. You can also use the Ascenta store locator to find a location nearest to you that offers this great product!
