I am a fan of yogurt, but I am a little picky on which ones I eat. Normally I buy low fat yogurt that is one sale or that I have a coupon for. I try not to buy it in bulk because I won’t eat it if it has been in my refrigerator for very long. Even if it has not expired yet. I am very finicky when it comes to milk based products. When I eat a bowl of cereal, I eat it right away because I don’t like milk is not cold.
Brown Cow Yogurt Review
I recently was asked to try the Brown Cow All Natural Greek Yogurt. Since I like yogurt, I happily agreed to give it a try. Now I have heard of Brown Cow before, I just have never purchased it because it was not familiar to me as some of the many others available. While I like to try new things, some things I stick with what I know. When I went grocery shopping, I headed over to grab the yogurt in which I had a coupon for. Now Walmart did not have a very good selection of this yogurt which I was sort of bummed. They only had two flavors available. I like flavored yogurt as I do not care for the plain types. A few months ago I bought some plain yogurt and mixed some fresh fruit, but to me it just wasn’t what I was hoping for. Luckily Walmart had the 4-packs of the Brown Cow All Natural Greek Yogurt in Blueberry. This happens to be one of my favorite flavors of yogurt so I was happy with that so I snatched it up.
Okay, so later that evening after I got home I was eager to try the yogurt that was sitting in my refrigerator. It was something new, I was hungry and it sounded very good at the time. I opened the container and stirred up my yogurt as the fruit is on the bottom. It had been quite a while since I had yogurt that wasn’t already premixed. I actually enjoyed stirring it up and the first thing I noticed was the amount of blueberries at the bottom. I slowly enjoyed every bite of that yogurt in that container. While I was eating it, I noticed that it was more creamier than the yogurt I was used to eating. The taste and consistently was really good and when I was finished, I actually wanted to open another container. I controlled myself and waited until the next day to try it again.
The next day comes and I am eager to have another one of these yummy yogurts. I then look on the container and see that it is labeled as “NONFAT YOGURT”. I was so surprised that this yummy treat was nonfat. I think that if I would have read that it was nonfat before I ate the first one, it probably would have influenced my opinion. I told you earlier that I am picky so Nonfat milk products have never really appealed to me until now. I was hoping after reading the label, that I would still like it. Sometimes my mind can play tricks on me with food. I took a bite and was happy that I still was able to enjoy this treat knowing it was nonfat and possibly a healthy treat for me.
So I wanted to know what the difference was between the regular lowfat yogurt that I am used to eating and this new all natural Greek yogurt that I have taken a liking for. After reading the Brown Cow website, I found out some pretty cool information that I would probably would have never known. Brown Cow Farm uses a straining process that removes the liquid (whey) from the yogurt to make it become thick, rich and creamy. This yogurt also has about twice the amount of protein than the average yogurt with less lactose. Sounds like a winner to me!
