I have been a fan of Lunchables ever since I was a kid. YES, these yummy lunches have been around since 1988, imagine that. I grew up with just the Lunchables with the crackers, cheese and drink as many of you probably did too. Now, there are so many more varieties that me and my children enjoy. Yes, Lunchables are for the grown ups too!
I recently was given the opportunity by Mom Central to do a review for Lunchables. I chose the Deep Dish Cheese Pizza since this is something I have not tried in the past. I have always been curious about how the pizza tasted in these. I also was curious about how the whole grain flour used in the bread was going to taste. A couple days ago, after having to hide the Lunchable in my fridge, I gave it a try. I will admit that I did use a few pieces of pepperoni because I am FAN of pepperoni pizza. I zapped it in the microwave for a few seconds and I was good to go. It was better than I expected and I definitely plan on purchasing these for the kids. Normally we stick the crackers and cheese, but I think these are good for a change.
About the Deep Dish Cheese Pizza from the Kraft website:
You won’t have to dig deep for our Deep Dish Pizza, made with Kraft 2% Mozzarella and 2% Cheddar, deep dish crust made with whole grain, Tombstone Pizza Sauce, Tree Top® Applesauce, Mini Nilla Wafers, spring water and Tropical Punch Kool-Aid Singles.
Over the years, Lunchables has worked hard to improve their products. They have worked reduced the overall sodium content, fat and calories by at least 20%. They have also added bottled spring water and packaged fruit to some of the varieties. The Deep Cheese Pizza even comes with Dole Mandarin oranges instead of the candy that some of you are used to seeing. I like the healthier options…..
