Ever since I received my Whirlpool Duet, I have become the laundry queen. For the last month, I have been in charge of all of the laundry of the house. I would say that since the laundry is my chore and I have my Whirlpool Duet, the laundry is more under control. Since I have a large family, we go through a ton of DIRTY laundry. I have been busy the last month or so trying to figure out all the different cycles and which ones work best for cleaning our clothes.
What is neat about these machines is they have been designed to help consumers save time, energy and even money. Most of the time you will find me using the normal cycle on the washing machine. I also like to avoid wasting hot water, so most of my clothes are washed in the cold/cold setting.
I was fascinated to learn that the Whirlpool Duet that I own is the industry’s most resource efficient laundry pair. Not only is the washer machine energy efficient, the dryer works in tandem with the washer to make the whole process more efficient. This is done by using faster spin speeds in the washing machine and special sensors in the dryer. With this dryer, I can stick my clothes in the machine and it will use it’s fancy sensors to determine how much time is needed to dry the clothes. For me, this saves time and money, because I would normally have to put my clothes in my old dryer for at least 1 hour and forget about them. With my new dryer, if it only needs 20 minutes, it is only going to spin for 20 minutes instead of the hour I would normally set it for.
Another feature that really helps save time is the Precision Dispense feature in the washing machine. You fill up a special container with the HE liquid laundry detergent which allows you to save time in pouring the required amount each time. The machine measures and fills the machine with your soap for you. I know that this doesn’t save a whole lot of time, but it does some and it all adds up on the long run.
Here are some other facts and features about my Whirlpool Duet that I want to share:
- My washer uses as little as 11.5 gallons of water per load and exceeds the minimum federal standard for energy selling requirements by more than 160%, on average.
- My dryer is 7.4 cu ft that allows me to dry more laundry at one time that saves energy
- Dryer has eco-cycle that helps save energy
- Households with the new Whirlpool Duet can save as much as $3, 300 in lifetime energy costs
I LOVE my new Whirlpool Duet and have not got tired of doing the laundry yet. I get the fun part of sticking them in the washer and dryer and the kids can help mom fold the clean clothes. I still have not tried all the cycles, but have been definitely having a little fun trying all of the ones out that I have used so far. I would also have to say that I enjoy the sound of when my laundry is done. It is so nice and pleasant. My old set had annoying buzzers that you had to turn off.
Now off to do some laundry!
